I love the pan!  The primary use is for baking artesian bread in an elongated form, but I have also used it for baking chicken.  It holds the heat beautifully  and so far is doing everything exactly exactly like I expected!  Very happy with the purchase.

Perfect for me!

This is a great cast iron cooker. However, it did not suit my needs. I wanted it for sourdough, but it was too long.

I bought this cast-iron Dutch oven for baking artisan sourdough bread and it's absolutely perfect. Exactly what I wanted. Highly recommend.

Bakes a nice loaf of Bread! Love the oval shape and the large size. Works well for chicken legs and potatoes too.

I like this pot.  It looks great and the metal is quite thick.  It's also heavy.

I am using this to bake bread in. I swtich it around so the top is the base and the bottom vessel becomes the cover in which to hold the steam in. It works good. But not awesome. Because both top and bottom are heated in the oven first, it a bit unwieldy to handle and have burned my hands a few times. It would be better if the handles did not line up in the center or even have a bit of space between the handles. I often get the hotpads caught in between the handles. 
The cast iron itself is decent quality (not excellent but good enough). You get a nice tight fit and thus great to hold steam in for baking bread. Works good for batards or other longer loaves
