It provides great value for entertainment, especially compared to similar products. I plan to purchase it as a gift, and I know it will make the person receiving it very happy. The Playstation works fine in the horizontal position. It does not work well at all in the vertical position. As soon as I set it up vertically and started a game, it overheated and crashed (turned off). I left it off for about an hour and it did the same thing again. The PS5 uses a liquid metal cooling system that transfers heat from the CPU to the heatsink. When the PS5 stands in the vertical position, it causes the liquid metal to pool at the bottom of the CPU. This can cause dry spots on the CPU where heat will build up. Furthermore, in some cases, this can cause the liquid metal to leak and damage other internal components. I cannot believe that Sony says its acceptable to use it in the vertical position! I scanned at least 7 Internet sites regarding this issue and only two said to lay it flat on its side (Playstation logo facing up). The best site was https://gamerepair.com/blog/how-to-keep-your-ps5-cool-why-positioning-matters/. The other sites said it was ok to use vertically or horizontally. Go figure! I still believe its a good value for the money even though it has this fatal flaw.

Horizontal Positioning is Best

I received late notice the take as expected the box came dented and ripped it has also been opened which makes me question if I bought a brand new one or if this is used or not ! I bought for my son for Christmas I hope it works with no problems !
