The PlayStation 5 Pro is Sony’s premium, high-performance console designed to deliver smoother frame rates and enhanced visuals without forcing players to choose between fidelity and performance modes. It features an upgraded GPU boasting 67% more Compute Units and 28% faster memory than the standard PS5, yielding up to 45% faster graphics rendering. To elevate image quality, the console introduces PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR), a cutting-edge, AI-driven machine learning upscaler that delivers razor-sharp 4K clarity at high frame rates. Additionally, advanced ray tracing technology simulates light, reflections, and shadows at double or triple the speed of the base console. Built as a digital-only system, the console includes a massive 2TB custom SSD for ample storage and supports next-generation Wi-Fi 7 connectivity for ultra-fast online performance. For those with physical media, a separate Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive attachment can be added. The system is backwards-compatible with over 8,500 PlayStation 4 games, benefiting from a "PS5 Pro Game Boost" feature that stabilizes and sharpens older titles. Packaged with a standard DualSense wireless controller and a pre-installed copy of Astro's Playroom, the PS5 Pro represents the pinnacle of current-generation console engineering.

Controller Functionality

I finally splurged on the Pro version and set it up in front of my 98 inch TV. The moment I turned it on, the graphics looked so crisp I thought the game characters were trying to sneak out of the screen and into my living room. The frame rate is smoother than a buttered otter sliding down a water slide, and I swear the explosions now have a faint scent of ozone that wafts through the house.

Ease of use? It's basically a plug-and-play miracle. I didn't need a PhD in electronics to get it running; the UI is so intuitive that even my grandma could figure it out while knitting a sweater. The controller feels like a solid chunk of future tech, and the PS Portal syncs flawlessly, letting me stream my favorite titles to the couch without a hitch.

As for quality, this thing feels like it was forged by a team of artisanal engineers who only use the finest titanium and unicorn hair. The build is sturdy, the fan is whisper-quiet (except when it decides to announce a boss fight with a gentle roar), and the HDMI cable that came with it is longer than my last relationship.

I've been playing non-stop, and the console hasn't missed a beat. The graphics are so advanced that my TV now has a permanent case of pixel envy, and the framerate is so high I've started to question whether I'm watching a game or a high-definition documentary about my own reflexes.

If you're looking for a gift, this Pro is the perfect blend of awe-inspiring performance and brag-worthy status. Just be prepared for the recipient to start demanding a larger TV, a better sound system, and perhaps a personal assistant to keep up with the visual feast. In short, this thing is a glorious, slightly pricey, gaming behemoth that turns every session into a cinematic event.

Big Screen Bliss, Small Wallet Regret

walmart.com

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted a ps5 for the longest, I didn't have intentions on getting a pro at the time but once I realized it was on sale I HAD to have it. I love the fact Walmart has rollback sales for those of us who couldn't shop during Black Friday and cyber Monday.

I've been waiting for the system for about a year or so now. I finally have it and it is up to my expectations. Smooth graphics, smooth i‘ve been waiting for the system for about a year or so now. I finally have it and it is up to my expectations. Smooth graphics, smooth gameplay, and great accessories.

My 5yrs old grandsons can work this thing better than me. I am a 67 yrs old retired senior. My plan is to learn how to play the games in my spare time. There a lot of steps to setting up the Pro. There are parental, price and block out outside players guidance. The picture on the PS5 games provides excellent clarity, but not for most of the PS4 games. The sound from the TV is good and would be better with a sound bar. I don't like the static sounds that come from the handheld controllers. I purchased the disk drive for the PS4 games. I think I don't need it because there are plenty of games that can be downloaded from the menu. I noticed there isn't a lot of educational games on the menu for my 5 yrs old grandson, but a lot of games with weapons, knives and guns. This is my first PS, so that is the best review I can provide right now.

Has to be the best console in the market. Although overpriced and without disc drive and vertical stand, it's the Best way to play your console games.

Thanks to the seller, it got delivered in a few hours. I was really worried if I'll Even get a fresh unit, but it arrived scratchless and brand new.

I would say if you have spare money and want the best console gaming experience, go for it

Amaze amaze amaze

I was hesitant to get this for my husband because of the price. But the graphics on it are amazing. I mean, they are just absolutely beautiful. It's wild how you can see every detail in the games that pay attention to detail. blades of grass that sway, shadows reacting how they do IRL. Fast response time too, which I imagine has to do with our good Internet too. Very expensive, but good investment.

expensive but nice!

Absolutely the best (console) gaming system ever. Love everything about the PS5 pro except for the price. Very much over-priced. You'll have to decide for yourself if the price is worth it but it is fun.

I bought this console as new $850 but it's clearly used the HDMI cord is visibly used and the controller is visibly used and it has a stick drift.

Not a new PS5 pro

playstation 5 pro was delivered on monday 8/24 and broken and returned by sunday 8/30....only played a couple times due to 12 hr working shifts. turned playstation on and screen was blacking out took forever to get to login screen. once on main page any game you tried to play it threw and error code and wouldn't play any games..5 days on a $1,000 system and it totally glitches out. playstation.com offered to have me send in to repair and probably have the system for weeks if not months for something I played 1 time and had for 5 days and spent $1,000 on...no thanks I returned it. buyers beware. such a tease the graphics were great, game play was awesome everything I expected it to be and then it crashed after 5 days of owning it.

I bought this, I bought a disc drive for it, I paid for a year of PS Plus, I realized how terrible this console is and how much Sony hates its customer base, I sold this piece of junk, then I bought a series x and a switch 2. Don't buy this for the sake of your own sanity please.
