It really looks like a real fire burning. I purchased another one for my sister for Christmas. I placed gems with a variety of different colors, the gems reflect off the light it looks beautiful. You may use fireplace reflective glass but the gems worked just fine.

It arrived quickly and when I opened it and plugged it up, I was more than happy. I gives me the look I was searching for. Image in picture is exactly what I received. I am in the process of making a fireplace for the holidays.  Things are shaping up perfectly.

Very excited!!!!

I recently had a fireplace mantle built in my bedroom. I needed a fireplace to go in it.I didn't need anything that put out heat. So when I found this online I was thrilled. I got it all put together and it was awesome but about 20 minutes of it running it started smelling like burnt plastic. So I continued to let it run some more and the smell eventually went away. Needless to say it was just what I was looking for and it even crackles to give that "real" wood burning sound!

I have a fake fireplace in my living room and I wanted an electric log to put in it before Thanksgiving. I got it early and it looks amazing. When you turn it on it even makes a realistic pop and crackle noise like a real fire would. It looks good both on and off.

It is an amazing deal and I am so glad that I bought it. Definitely no regrets.

Adorable and realistic fire sounds

The electric logs look good set up in the fireplace.  I was pleasantly surprised to see the grate stand was cast iron and not stamped steel.

On the down side the ends of the log assembly are unfinished particle board but once it's in place you don't really see them.

My biggest gripe is the location of the switch on the power cord.  It's installed about 6-8" from the logs so you have to get down into the fireplace to turn the logs on or off.

Came on time ,Picked up at  store. Didn't come with grate but I already knew that. Didn't look like much out of the box. My old Ben Franklin wood burner is a lot of trouble to use and I considered a gas conversion insert for it.  Too much trouble this late in the year. I pulled the logs off   grate and put the electric crackling logs on. Didn't bother to clean out the fire place. Ash and cinders adds to the effect. yes it looks like a gas log set up. my friend said it felt warmer after I turned it on. I  added a remote controller to the plug outlet to complete the project.  I gave it four stars because it did not have a grate as in the ad. Looks great with the Christmas tree. Looks real.

Good Buy

This electric hearth looks and works just as described. I'd like to have a real fireplace but that's not possible in this location in the house. Very cozy and quiet. I followed another reviewers suggestion and added a couple branches from the yard and it looks more natural than I expected.

Just as described

I bought this as a fireplace-insert for my fireplace in the basement. I was looking for something that would not actually heat up yet fill up my fireplace. This is perfect for everything I wanted except its a little bit smaller (in length and height) than I expected or maybe my fireplace is bigger than standard size.

It comes with proportionally sized grate of cast iron, it is foldable and one-sided. Which serves the purpose. The old grate I had was huge and heavy. For now to make the fireplace look filled I have put this on top of my old grate and I am planning to fill up with a few real logs underneath and around to make it the right fit for my fireplace. When lit up, it gives the feel of real fireplace. Good buy for good price !

I wasn't expecting much from this item, so it delivered far beyond my expectations.  I placed it inside my brick fireplace with natural logs around and a few crystals underneath to reflect the light and it looks and sounds so authentic I often expect to feel heat radiating out from the logs.  :)  Love it!  I placed it on a timer so it automatically sets a warm ambiance in my family room each night. Amazing...

Surprisingly nice!

Used ship to store service which was very convenient for me. Product was delivered in good condition. Use it to convert an old wood burning stove to and electric wood stove, it worked great. Looks good especially behind the screen, gives a fairly realistic effect of wood burning in the stove along with some crackling. Very cool, was pleased with the outcome, and more important so was my wife.

Very Good Log Set for the Price

Okay Okay, so its a tacky fake log. But it's really quite wonderful! It looks authentic and it even flickers and hisses. The crackling sound it should make is very faint-that's my only misgiving. But it lends a wonderful atmosphere to the fireplace and room and it is amazingly charming. It is quite large, though, so make sure you have a large enough fireplace mantel to support it.
