Setup process is brief and easy to follow.

difficult to integrate into Microsoft photos.  It sets up an independent file each session, not a continuous project.  Trying to integrate and/or move individual documents deletes the entire file.  Also, scans only one side.  Would have prferred a scanner that could do both sides to a single file

Once I completed setting the unit up, I found it extremely easy to use.  Scanning is quick and easy.  I have experimented with some of the enhancement features.  Sometimes they provide a better view of photos.  I had to figure out how to save the photos from the app.

Easy and quick to use.

This is a great photo scanner. Easy to set up. Easy to cart from one place to another. I'm not a big fan of the Plustek picture's program, but it's not hard to move the pictures to another program if you plan on changing the pictures.  I am in the process of scanning my kid's "growing up" years - this is perfect for that. The quality is excellent. Highly recommend.

This is an excellent photo scanner

I bought this to scan hundreds of family pictures. I was using a flat bed scanner before which was taking forever.  this solved my problem.  you just drop the picture and it scans it in 3 seconds and then you drop in the next one.  so fast! my 8 year old has been helping me. i am so grateful for this time saver!

Fast and Easy!

I purchased this scanner with the intent to digitize/scan all my family's printed photos (before digital cameras were invented). The first scanner I got was defective, but I was able to return it to Walmart with no issues for a full refund, even after opening it and using it. 

Then I purchased it again, and I have had no problems with it. With the scanner, you have to download the Plustek software (either online or with the disk that's included in the scanner) and it's able to scan images up to 600 DPI. The higher the DPI, the slower the scanner, but even compared to other photo scanners (I've tried around 5 in my search for the perfect photo scanner), the speed is slightly above average. The clarity of the photos and colour quality is quite high in terms of scanning photos. 

The software is very good for scanning in bulk and then saving to the appropriate folders with different file names. At first, I thought it was a bit pricey for a scanner, but after trying more scanners in a lower price range, I understand why a customer would pay this amount for a scanner. 

Overall, I really enjoy using this scanner for scanning photos and I would recommend it to anyone looking to scan in bulk with ease.

Very Easy to Use!

Great value and super easy to use.  Bought Plustek Scanner to scan thousands of old photographs onto my computer.  The scanner is easy to use, quick and synced automatically with my Mac.  You have to load each pic individually  but this wasn't a problem.  Scanners that can handle many photos at once are significantly more expensive.  Didn't use the editing software very often but it seemed ok, a little limited.

Excellent scanner for the price

Did what it was supposed to do. Works well for scanning photos and recipes. Software is easy to use.

Good for old photo and recipe collections

Only had this a few days, but so far, so good. I have scanned many photos already, after an initial hiccup downloading the CD/DVD provided for the progam. All good now - fingers crossed it continues to perform well. One small point, I called and asked if it would scan legal size as well as letter and was told no. However, I did scan a legal doc for interest, and it did scan its entirety, but resized image to letter size- which is not a problem for me. I have UK diaries of a family member dating back to the 1900 (pages are approx legal size = A4 size) and it is wonderful to be able to scan them too.

Good performance for price - good value

Finally! A quick-feed photo scanner at a reasonable price! I have LOTS of old photos to digitize, and didn't want the hassle of using a flatbed scanner, so this was an excellent option. Very quick and easy to get through many photos.  There are two issues that could really improve the scanner:

1. Although the quality of the initial scan is pretty good, I found that quality is even better after applying the sharpen option.  So, although the actual SCANNING portion is quick, having to individually open and sharpen every single photo before filing it is very slow and tedious. It would be much better if there were a way to batch edit, or update the setting to occur automatically while scanning so that if you know you are going to apply the same settings to several photos (sharpening, color correction, etc), it can be done more efficiently. I tried using Photoshop to batch sharpen, but actually discovered that the sharpen tool in the Plustek software had better results.

2. The software will only allow you to scan 50 photos before stopping and forcing you to save and file them. Although I appreciate them looking out for me and making sure I don't lose countless scans before saving them, it does slow down the process significantly...especially since I have to apply any filters and sharpening before saving.

So while the scanning itself is incredibly quick, the process is lengthened by having to stop after every 50 photos, and then individually sharpen and filter EVERY SINGLE PHOTO.

Good, but a few improvements could make it great

This product was defective.
The tech support was great, they were able to confirm the scanner was defective.
The product also came with outdated software.
