Irene Hannon delivers another action-packed romantic thriller with Point of Danger, the first in her Triple Threat series about the Reilly sisters.

Eve Reilly hosts a controversial conservative radio talk show. When a ticking package arrives on her front steps, her path crosses with Brent Lange, a new detective with the St. Louis County Crimes Against Persons Bureau. As a matter of fact, her potential bomb case becomes Brents first as a detective.

As more and more threats are waged against Eve, she and Brent draw closer and closer as they work to figure out who is gunning for Eve and why  all while trying to fight the attraction between them.  And as her dangerous situation grows, Brent must decide if he is willing to work through past negative experiences to open his heart to Eve.

Point of Danger is a heart-thumping thriller that keeps the reader guessing until the very end about just who has it out for Eve. Hannon, as always, does an incredible job of developing very real, relatable and flawed characters, while also laying a little intrigue in others. She also offers subtle hints to characters and locations in her other series, which is like a fun little scavenger hunt.

She also fills her stories with some nuggets of wisdom, like dealing with and overcoming pride; how we should not overthink and create complications in our lives; and the importance of accepting Gods direction and protection.

One small disclaimer: there is some alcohol use, very mild sexual innuendo, and domestic abuse in this story. 

Hannon delivers another great novel with Point of Danger, and I cant wait to read the next installment, about Eves sister Cate, due out in October 2021.

Another Great Thriller by Hannon

Multi-Award Winner Author Irene Hannon is providing readers with a new series (Triple Threat) and Book 1, POINT OF DANGER is SCINTILLATING! Be ready for edge of your seat drama from start to finish! When a suspicious package arrives on her doorstep and she hears a ticking sound, she immediately notifies the authorities. 

Police Detective Brent Lange is assigned to the case. He takes this case very seriously and quickly realizes that the predator is escalating his/her harassment. Brent also is impressed with how Eve handles herself even in the midst of all her trials. Too bad he has sworn off relationships. Eve is drawn to him as well. She sees that he makes her case a priority and quickly realizes that he would sacrifice his life for her.

As the mayhem continues to mount, it becomes very clear that this terrorizer wants nothing short of Eves death. Yet, Brent has a gut feeling they are missing a big piece of the puzzle. Hannons surprise climax clearly demonstrates why her writing continues to garner so much attention and win so many awards!

SCINTILLATING!

Point of Danger by Irene Hannon is the first book in her Triple Threat series. Eve Reilly is the host of a radio talk show. She is very vocal about her beliefs. Now someone wants her silenced  permanently! Police Detective Brent Lange is in charge of Eves case. He finds that none of the threats seem to be linked but his gut instinct says they are. Now, Brent is in a race against time to figure out who wants Eve dead before they actually succeed. There were a lot of characters to try to keep up with in this story and at times I had to thumb back through the story to figure out who was who. But that didnt stop the suspense from building. You werent sure who to trust. The ending was a total shock! I never saw that coming! I enjoyed the comradery of the three sisters. I cant wait for the next book!

A Page-Turner

Do you like to solve puzzles? Irene Hannon does such a great job of having several possible suspects to her crimes that it definitely feels like a complicated puzzle. Several people have possible reasonable motives in this book so you start to wonder if there is more than one suspect working together. Because of this, I am so drawn in and captivated by this story that it is hard to put it down. I will say that there are some topics in this book that lots of people will have strong opinions on or may bring up bad memories for some so if you are someone that gets upset when reading about difficult topics then this book may not be for you. There is also to me an underlying theme of the enemy coming after someone the more they try to do the right thing.

Puzzling

Eve Reilly is an outspoken conservative Christian radio talk show host, who isn't afraid to speak her mind.  Getting threats isn't new to her, but getting a bomb threat by her front door is.  That is only the beginning, as more sinister things are sent her way.   

Police detective Brent has his hands full trying to catch the one behind it all, and keep her life safe.  Eve has a lot of gumption, and continues her outspoken habits--while more threats continue to come her way.  The guilty party may be an individual, a hate group or anything in between.  Brent is ready to abandon his no dating rule after meeting the mesmerizing Eve.  Can she get him to change his mind about relationships?

You may think you know the perpetrator, but like me, you may only be partially right because of surprising turns this tale takes.  This page turning thriller, full of events that sound like todays headlines, will keep you glued to this book.  Just like Eve, this author doesnt back down from the hard things.  I recommend this five-star clean book to everyone who likes exciting stories told from a Christian perspective.

Catch the Culprit!

Point of Danger begins Irene Hannons Triple Threat series. I enjoyed this Romantic Suspense. It has a lot that I enjoy in a book. Which includes: mystery, suspense, inspiration, action, danger, adventure, and romance. I was intrigued with each page in this one. I really enjoyed getting to know Eva and Brent. They had great chemistry together and a perfect duo. The story was far from being predictable and I never knew where they would end up in each scene. The twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat all through out the book. It was so very good.

Point of Danger gets five stars from me. I look forward to reading the next installment from the Triple Threat series to find out what happens following this one.

Point of Danger

I knew when I picked up this book it would be a great one, and boy, it sure didn't disappoint. Irene Hannon did it again, you really don't want to miss this one, it will keep you on the edge of your seat. It will also make you think that you are reading today's headlines, so current!
Who wants Eve dead? Well, you will think you know, but don't get two comfortable, the title will give you a hint, but even then I could not fantom all that happens here.
Beside the evil lurking, and surprises, yes big ones, there is the love of family. Sister's there for one another that will warm your heart and put a smile on your face. 
There is also the beginnings of an attraction between the victim Eve and the detective Brent, but most of all these people show a great faith in God.
This is suspense at it's finest!

Evil Lurking

Point of Danger by Irene Hannon is a gripping novel of Eve Reilly, conservative radio host.  Eve is finds herself in an unusual set of circumstances as she has recently been threatened by a bomb.  Law enforcement sends over a new detective, Brent.  Brent grows concerned for Eve as the story develops, both as a detective and a friend, or maybe even more?  Eve realizes that she is also connecting with Brent in a deeper way, something her sisters pick up on as well. Who is out to get Eve? Will the police be able to stop the threats or worse a real attack? Why threaten this conservative talk show host?

Point of Danger is a thrilling novel that will keep you hooked. It is enjoyable and the characters are fun to follow, and may just touch on a bit of real life today! I was given a free copy from the publisher for my honest review, which I was happy to do!

Gripping!

It's an exciting day when a book by Irene Hannon arrives in my mailbox! I enjoy reading romantic suspense and she has become a reliable source of entertainment in this field. Point of Danger is the beginning of a new series so I was looking forward to meeting the new characters and seeing where the series would take me.

The main characters are radio talk show host Eve Reilly and police detective Brent Lange. The story opens up with a ticking package on Eve's front porch. Is it a bomb? Who would leave a bomb on her front porch? 

As the story unfolds it becomes apparent that many people have nefarious motives towards Eve. She's an outspoken, right leaning, political talk show host and there are many that would love to see her silenced.

I loved trying to guess who the ultimate culprit was. I think I changed my mind two or three times before the plot was revealed. And when it was revealed I was pleasantly surprised! 

If you like suspense with a bit of romance mixed in, I recommend that you give Point of Danger a try.

Whatever the motivation for today's incident, she was sticking with her principles. She would not back down from her point of view, no matter the danger, Eve determines in Irene Hannon's novel, Point of Danger.

~ What ~
The first book in the Triple Threat series, this three-hundred-eighty-four-page paperback targets those interested in a suspenseful romance about staying safe while being targeted by an unknown assailant. With no profanity or overtly sexual scenes, the topics of alcohol use, attempted murder, and death may not be appropriate for immature readers. The ending includes an excerpt for another book series, acknowledgments, author's biography, and advertisements.

In this current-day story, thirty-one-year-old Eve Reilly finds a ticking package on her doorstep and becomes a target because of her conservative viewpoint on her radio talk show. While she thinks the recent harassments are non-threatening, Detective Brent Lange considers there is more behind the attacks than noted.

As the two try to figure out who is threating her, they also find their attraction toward each other growing, in spite of Eve's strong determination and Brent's impasse regarding romance.

~ Why ~
If you like a series about a strong woman who is being challenged by those who hate her religion and politics and is threatened while the police try to find out her perpetrator, this novel with a strong thread of relationships will keep you interested. I enjoyed the unexpected turn of events in the story.

~ Why Not ~
Those who do not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ may not understand how important it is to rely on God and pray to Him. Others may not like the overly-forward personality of the main protagonist and how she seems to put everyone in their place.

~ Wish ~
Although the tale had some twists and turns, it left many questions unanswered about some of the characters, who will no doubt be addressed in the next book in the series. I hope in the next book, the romantic insecurities are not overstated as they were in this read.

~ Want ~
If you like a romantic suspense that includes accepting past mistakes and moving on by putting the rest in God's hands, this series is a good start.
