[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I first saw this toy I was really not impressed. However this is clearly not for me and my 8 year old Pokemon loving son thinks this Poke guessing ball is great. It kept him occupied on a recent 3-hour car trip and while I wanted to throw this thing out the window he was super excited each time the Poke ball guessed a Pokemon correctly and added it to his collection. There's about 250 Pokemon that this thing can guess and thankfully it comes with a field card so your child can choose off that instead of trying to make the ball guess Pokemon that are not from the region that this ball covers (like my son liked to do). The ball works by asking you to think of a Pokemon and then asks yes/no questions about the Pokemon you're thinking of. It uses process of elimination to guess which Pokemon you're thinking of. While I found this toy annoying my son really loves it and if he's happy I'm happy. I recommend this toy for any Pokemon loving kid.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wasn't expecting this game to be different from other Pokémon games we've had in the past but this Kanto Edition has the ability to read your mind...sort of. My 6yo has enough knowledge to answer some of the questions except for when his pronunciation skills gets in the way. Easy to activate (voice activated) with just one button and loud enough to be heard by a room full of players in a medium sized room.

Pokemon Delivered Again

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pokémon anything is always a big hit in our house with all of our kids 5-15. This guessing game kept the kids happy and quietly entertained for many hours. I like that my kids have to analyze the characters and talk to each other about what attributes and characteristics each character has. The ball is not perfect it does get it wrong quite a bit but this just lengthens the game play time this is not a game that needs to be perfect every time to enjoy. The ball does stand up to falls and is easily wiped off when sticky hands have been holding it playing while eating. The batteries are easily changed which is key because the set that it came with didn't last long. I liked the holder so that you can display it while not in use not losing it in the bottomless pit of a of a toy box. This little gadget is loud you will be able to hear it all through the house for some this may be a problem but I think the voice is not overly robotic and is not horrible to listen to extensively. I would recommend this as a gift for any Pokémon fan great add to any collection.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ok, I got the Pokemon - Trainer Guess: Kanto Edition because my 9yo son likes to play Pokemon Go. I thought it would be a cute game he could play. Little did I know, but this is actually a "Guess Who" type of game like what we play in the car while on trips. This awesome product takes two of my son's favorite things and puts them together into a fun game. 

The Pokemon - Trainer Guess: Kanto Edition comes with a Pokemon ball, stand, and trainer field guide. First, you look through the guide and choose your Pokemon character. Then you press the white button on the Pokemon ball and a cute voice starts asking questions. By answering out loud to "yes" or "no" you let the voice take you through a series of questions to narrow down which character you chose.

The Poke Ball has voice recognition. You can answer with several statements like yes, no, I don't know, it depends, say it again, and go back. You can turn the Poke Ball off by pressing the white button or it will automatically turn off after being inactive for 60 seconds.

The Poke Ball keeps record of the Pokemon you "catch" from playing the guessing game and adds it to your "electronic collection". You can check which Pokemon you have in your collection by holding down the white button for 2 seconds. The Poke Ball will tell you how many Pokemon you have, how many are left to collect, and list off the names of all you have collected. If you want to start over and start a new electronic collection you can reset the Poke Ball by following the directions in your Trainer field guide.

The Pokemon - Trainer Guess: Kanto Edition uses 3 AAA batteries that are included and already installed. This is such a cute game and really does provide hours of fun for you and/or your child. This is also a great toy to take on long trips!!!! This would be an awesome gift for anyone who loves Pokemon.

Cool toy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] i choose this for my girls. Theyreally like it, it has kept them entertained for a while. It comes with a booklet where you can read more about the different characters that the ball is trying to "guess" from you. Pretty cool for the kids, it also keeps track of the pokemon you have caught, you need to get 150 in order to catch them all. If you're kid is into pokemon they will really like this.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So, I've ended up reading a lot of other reviews for this toy, trying to figure out how to turn it off. Some reviews say to press the white button again, but that didn't work for us. I plan to wait to give this to my Pokémon obsessed ten year old for Christmas. Since I received it free in exchange for an honest review thru the Spark Reviewer program and needed to get this written, my husband and I tested it. We chose a Pokémon she is less likely to pick, in case we can't figure out how to reset it. Other reviews mentioned that the voice recognition was poor, but it seemed to understand both my husband and I without issue. It has two different sounds it makes to tell whether it heard “yes” or “no”. If you don't know much about the particular character, you can say “I don't know” in response to questions you don't know. It guessed wrong about 3 times, then finally got the one we picked. There are 151 different characters to have it guess. Not sure if you can reset it. We didn't find any way easily. 

The biggest problem is, after we were done, it wouldn't turn off. We tried hitting the button once, as other reviews said, but it just started its little spiel over! So, we hoped it was just in demo mode and it would turn off if we didn't touch or move it for awhile. So, I got it boxed back up, put back in the hiding spot in my closet, and waited. It had been in there 45 minutes and kept asking if I was still here. Kinda creepy to have that coming from the closet. Especially when I grew up watching Poltergeist, Chucky and the like. After about an hour, about fifteen minutes after I started this review (there's been some interruptions, lol), it finally said something along the lines of realizing it wasn't being played with and we haven't heard from it since. 

So, it works. It's cute. I think my kid will love it. But, it's hella creepy.

My closet keeps asking me if I'm still here...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Gotta Catch em' all! Pokemon - Trainer Guess: Kanto Edition is hit amongst those Pokemon lovers. Full of trivia to keep your team busy for hours and all you need are two AA batteries. Although the algorithm is not very sophisticated and the guesses are often wrong it kept my son entertain attempting to play the game. Included are Trainer Field Guide to Guess all 151 Kanto Region to assist with this guessing game.

Guess Who?

- Fun to pass time when bored and alone as well as with friends
- Basic Voice recognition
- I tried to answer "I don't know" to all the answers and at least it doesn't get annoyed compared to if it was a real person asking the question and it was a lot of fun

Cons:
- Must know Pokemon characters or have the reference book
- The base is just to put the ball on it, I wish the ball could be attachable/detachable from the base and the reference book could be put inside the base so that it can't be lost
- I hoped I could guess instead of being guessed but this toy only guess which Pokemon we choose

For lonely days like for party days

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this game for my daughters. Every since the Pokemon go came out, my daughters have loved Pokemon. I thought that they would also enjoy this game as well. It has the button on the front that you push. The button is supposed to be a timer for the game. But it just doesn't give an upbeat sound to keep the kids focused. They played the game for about an hour before they lost interest in itm. The didn't feel like it was a game they felt like it was more of a who do you know as in a questionnaire rather than it being put more in a game type aspect to where kids would actually be interested or where it would even spark thier interest. I think it could have been a better thought of game.
