[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Pooch Basic Starter Pack, Pooch Pumpkin Cake Mix & Cake Mold came out really good and was easy to use. It comes with the Silicone bake mold in the shape of a bone, a packet of cake mix & frosting mix. All of it is powder, so you add wet ingredients, such as one egg, oil, & water. The cake mix had a pumpkin smell to it and filled up about half of the cake mold. It baked in about 20 minutes. I poked a fork in it to make sure it was baked in the middle. I let it cool completely, then frosted after mixing the frosting mix. The frosting gets thick fast, so I added a little more water, and it was easier to spread. My dog loved the cake. The reusable mold is great. It didn't melt and was easy to wipe clean. I followed the baking tip on the box and pregreased the mold, so when I went to flip the cake out after it cooled, it came out smooth. I can see baking more of these cakes for my pooch. Just check the ingredients and make sure they're okay for your pet. This was fun to use! I would recommend it.

Great dog cake

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think I was as excited to try this pup cake mix as my German Shepherd, Pepper, was. I don't give her “human” food because I worry about it being unhealthy, but the ingredients list was all-natural and basically things you would find in dog food. It was sweeter, but it is meant to be a treat, not a daily food. It is much smaller than a standard cake mix, so it's not like you are giving your dog an entire cake to eat. It smelled amazing while cooking. I got the pumpkin flavor and it smelled just like pumpkin bread baking. In fact, my kids had to try a little bite and they approved –haha! The frosting was sparse, but since it was so sweet, I didn't mind that. The cake mold was adorable. It is dishwasher-safe silicone and seems to be of good quality. I may even use it to make human cakes as gags. When it came time to eat the cake, Pepper ran through her routine of “come, sit, paw” as fast as she could to get the cake. It was so cute. She wasn't sure about it at first and just licked the frosting a bit. After she finally took a bite though, it didn't last a minute after that. She even cleaned up all of her crumbs. Again, I wouldn't give her one of these very often, but it was a great treat and she loved it.

The cake mix smelled amazing, the icing seemed like it wouldn't be enough but did manage to glaze the cake. Supposed to keep it refrigerated or freeze it. Looks like it makes about 6 to 8 pieces of dog cake. The silicone pan worked great. My dogs approved.

The cake mix was prepared exactly like a human cake mix. Add a little oil, water and an egg and then pour into the mold. Very easy to prepare. The mix smelled really good while mixing and while baking. The icing was very easy to prepare as well. Just mix in a little water and spread over cooled cake. I didn't eat any of the cake but my dogs absolutely loved it. Definitely recommend giving it to dogs in smaller bites as the cake was pretty dense and thick and my dogs immediately went for their water bowl as soon as they finished their bites. Would definitely recommend this cake mix. My dogs love it!

Pooch Cake

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This cake designed for dogs is so cool for dog lovers. Baking the cake was just like baking a human cake instructions was very easy to follow on the cake, the frosting that came with the cake wasn't as smooth as I would have liked but that didn't stop my pups from loving it. The bone shaped cake pan didn't come with complete instructions, so you if you have never used a silicone baking pan before make sure to read up on them. I learned you must place the mold on a cookie sheet. When it comes to to feed the cake to your dog I recommend making sure you give them small cut up prices because the cake is kinda dense so the my need smaller pieces for them to easily swallow it.
