I wouldn't have thought of trying this but it came as a sample. My daughter and I both loved it and we have quite different taste in scent. I'm a Lime Basil and Mandarin girl with Orange Blossom in the summer and she's Peony and Blush Suede. This isn't like anything we'd either of us wear but she's already ordered hers and my order is going in tomorrow. It starts off lightly fruity and dries down to a lovely clean, fresh base. Without being able to pinpoint why, we both think it's a very summery smell. And it's very unusual. If you like a unique scent, this is for you.

I love this scent! I got a small bottle for my boyfriend for Christmas and fell in love with it! It was harder than heck to find but when I did, I bought a big bottle and hid it so he couldn't use it! I have had so many people tell me how much they love the scent of it!

Amazing

Such a lovely fragrance, with good staying power. More floral than my usual choice but balanced by the barley that somehow gives it a bit more depth so don't worry if you think it may be too "girly". It's especially nice with Myrhh and Tonka (which I'm not really a fan of) - I balance it by only giving one spritz of the cologne intense and 3 spritzes of the Poppy and Barley. Delicious! It also means it lasts throughout the day.

Uplifting

Where do I start?! I received a sample of this perfume and fell in love! I had to have it! It's sensual and seductive and gives off sexy without being overly sexual. It's perfect. I wish that it came in an oil as well for staying power. The scent does last all day but tends to dry down to a skin scent. By the end of the day I can still smell it and if someone is close enough they'll smell it, but it won't take over the room. If you're reading this review... you deserve this scent!

I purchased this Cologne based on the reviews and I am so happy that I did. I LOVE IT! It's the perfect scent - not too strong and not too light. My only complaint is that there isn't a Body Creme to go underneath. I layered it over English Pear + Freesia Body Creme, as a suggestion from another reviewer, but I am so in love with this scent that I NEED a Body Creme.

My New Favorite!

I am in love with JM fragrances, but none more than this one. If you love the warmth of the fading fall sun, the softness of poppies and the essence of rose, this is the fragrance! It reminds me of everything ethereal and beautiful about the changing of seasons. And the fragrance, though primarily soft, has a slight fruitiness to it. This fragrance is impressive, I can't wait to buy it again. I hope JM keeps this one for along time. I would also say it is in step with English Pear Freesia. Just a gorgeous scent!

Enchanting, warm, flirty and inviting!!

I am always on the search for a scent that doesn't overpower and is not too invasive. less is more ladies, we don't want to be the person wearing a loud fragrance that gives others headaches. I found that Joe Malone's craft here, the 'Poppy & Barley', to be such a delicate fragrance that is not only light but that is almost glowing. The top notes keep the smell so feminine and elegant - it is like a breath of air in an ethereal garden capture in a bottle. With this fragrance one can be sure to impress even the harshest mother-in-law and feel radiant.

How to impress your mother- in-law

I adore this cologne. I couldn't stop smelling myself when I tried it and I knew I had to buy it. It smells beautiful and settles down to the nicest warm and cosy fragrance. I think it's a very clever combination of note. It's my new signature scent! Please never remove this from the permanent range, Jo Malone!

Love, love, love this scent. It is me to the core. My mood is elevated each time I wear it. Poppy and barley is so fresh and clean-just feminine. I feel like a girl. Please give us a cream. I tried the pear cream as a layering experiment and was very disappointed. It changed what I enjoy about the fragrance and became something else entirely. Lotion, oil, cream- something, please. Thank you.

Fell in love

I have tried a number of JM fragrances and for some reason, I always find that - despite loving it in the store - I start to quickly dislike it when wearing it 'in real life'. I have always been disappointed at how quickly they wear off too. This is the exception and boy, do I get a lot of compliments when I wear it! Even at the end of the day, when I can no longer smell it on myself, I've had numerous people comment on the smell and ask me what I'm wearing. I never tell them; it's my closely guarded secret! I find the fragrance difficult to explain. It's floral, but not sickly or girly. It's also cottony. Clean and feminine, almost like freshly washed linen. After decades of searching, I feel like I've finally found 'the one'.

I received this perfume as a special birthday gift and I an extremely disappointed with it, once sprayed cannot smell it after 5 minutes and have received no comments about it unlike other perfumes does not last at all, not worth the money
