It worked will for Summer, (May is when it came), and it helped with the high humidity. But for winter, it is GREAT.  We always had high humidity in the winter. But last year, (2019), it got so bad, (80%), gray mold started growing so bad we had to clean all the rooms and closets. What a chore.  But know it's (humidity) down below normal level.
Wish the pan for the condensation was bigger, and they need to sale an insulation kit for the big air exhaust hose and window bracket.

As long as it works, it's great.

I can't say enough great things about this portable Black

I love this Black Decker portable heat pump!!

Haven't had real hot days so not sure how it will behave and have not tried the heater yet. BUt it cools down fairly nice. It just loud. (I think any of this kind will be loud for me) 
Easy set up. (Just pain to install/uninstall) window panel every time. (I don't leave it permanent), but other than that, I haven't had any issue so far (with limited amount of usage). However, I wish this came with "Current Temp" display.

Please try to plan ahead and buy this during winter, spring, or fall. You will be glad. Rather than being hot and uncomfortable then rushing frantically to buy it, you can easily install it and have it ready before the heat waves. I bought Black and Decker because they make good products that do not seem to break. There were many others on the market but this is the best. It is technically thought of as being for one room, but we found if you keep bedroom doors open and maybe a ceiling fan or box fan at the other end of the house, you can keep the heat down throughout and be comfortable. It has many advantages. You can take it with you when you move. The hose out the window idea sounded concerning when we purchased it since there were crank windows, but our relative also bought one and had regular slide windows, so we experienced  both window types. The setup comes with a piece that you put into your slide window. It fit fine. If you have any minor imperfections in the fit, you can just use green tape for any tiny variances. For the crank window I bought a separate kit that is sold for just that purpose. I ended up using a large sheet of clear plastic and green taped it around the window case and it worked all summer. Make sure you use tape that is temporary and will not pull off the paint if you are renting a place. There were some days we used it day and night. It made a big difference to our quality of life.

Love it!

I had a unit like this which for some reason failed after a couple of years but within warranty period. Black + Decker didn't hesitate and asked me to send the unit back to them so that they could replace it. Within days we received a brand new unit which has been working very well for a couple of months now without any issues. Truly a ply and play powerful unit that keeps the space it is in perfectly conditioned and on temperature.

This was a replacement for one we bought at Lowes.  a Lightning power surge took that one out.  This one works as well and was less expensive.  We have learned to trust Black and Decker over the years.

Works well and dependable so far

It works well at keeping my entire first floor cool, but is very loud! Its my first AC so i dont have another to compare it to but I cant hear when someone knocks or rings the doorbell if the AC is on so thats a bit frustrating. Id rather be nice and cool than hear the door though lol

Very disappointed in this unit.....and I researched it before hand.  Did not keep up with the 90 degree temp yesterday.  Will be moving it to a smaller room.

No way does it cool 700 sq ft

Does not cool as much as advertised. Did heavy research while deciding on a unit. I recommend you find a different one. This unit does not cool the small living room I put it in. It is big and bulky, and just gets in the way. I have the unit set to its lowest setting, which is 64 degrees, I also have the fan up all the way, and it is almost 80 degrees in the living room. About 90 degrees outside.

Not as powerful as advertised

K...it works "okay". if you don't need the remote.

I bought it during a heat wave in Fresno. Used it sporadically until the HEAT came. 

We're not quite Phoenix,  but we're very close. 

Didn't need the remote until recently.  My remote wasted 3 sets (6 batteries) over the span of about 36 hours. Try reaching the company 5o get any assi

They say this unit will cool a 22x25 room.
