I was not sure what to expect but I was very pleased with the mulcher. I bought it to use some of my leaves as garden mulch but it also significantly sped up the whole process of cleaning the yard. Went from about 45 bags of leaves to about 10, but I wasn't being that efficient - I am sure it could have been fewer bags. When it is on I couldn't throw the leaves in fast enough. It kept up with my wife and I loading at the same time by hand. Highly recommend safety glasses and a mask as it is a dusty job when the leaves are dry. The glasses are more to keep the dust out of my eyes than any projectiles. Seemed to me a safe and efficient leaf mulcher. Very happy with it overall.

Quick work cleaning the yard

We have 3 large maple trees that produce lots of leaves and would require 40 plus bags to clean up the yard. Now that number is down to 12 thanks to this mulcher.

Nice machine for fall clean up

I have lots of trees and attempted to purchase this machine last year, however there were non available from 'any' source. Got one two weeks ago. Much faster than using the Worx Blower/Vac-Mulcher. It will mulch as fast as you can dump leaves in the hopper. The use of trimmer line over blade type tools makes this a safer machine for fingers but does not diminish its voracious appetite for leaves. I still use my Worx Blower/Vac for final cleanup. The trimmer line is simple to change and unless you throw a lot of small twigs and sticks, one set of 2 lines will hold up through more than one use. This machine is well built, sturdy, as with all Worx tools I have purchased, and breaks down and stores within itself, very compact. I highly recommend this mulcher over any other I have seen on the market. I also own a gas powered mulcher/chipper and prefer this tool for mulching.

Fantastic Hard Worker

I envisioned a product and this is it at the right price point. I bought a 20 gal garbage can that just fits under this stand. And a pair of leaf hands from the online"jungle". Viola a huge time and space saver. It is loud. And dusty so i fashioned a dust skirt. Got huge roll of next bigger size premium shredder line. Wear glasses and a dust mask and good to go!

Our neighborhood association allows only 10 bags per week. In the past we have had to put out up to 20 bags per week during the leaf season. I am now able to put out only 2 bags per week. There are a few things one should know when using this tool. The cutting strings wear out very easily and I have had to replace 2 times per use in filling the two bags. The company should provide these free of charge. The unit doesn't fit any known container that I know of to hold the mulch. I have had to improvise. The company should provide or sell a device that allows the paper bags that are required to store the mulched leaves for pickup to fit under the machine. Other than these 2 inconvenient features if you have a lot of leaves to collect this is the way to go.

A bag svior

I had another brand that was difficult to collect the mulched leaves and clogged all the time. I can put a drawstring plastic bag over the stand and run till it fills up. A great feature. One complaint people have had is changing the string a lot. I went to a heavy duty string and it probably lasts 5 times as long as the original. I mulched 3 full bags of wet leaves yesterday and I think I changed one string.

Works really well

I hate it when leaves cover my yard and driveway every fall. Why can't they just rot on the trees and fall to the ground as compost?
I hate to have to rake them up and burn them because burning is illegal in our county (what are we supposed to do, eat them?), and to make it worse, my son is a fireman so I get it from both sides.
I hate the fact that the mower doesn't do a better job of mulching them. It just blows them all over where I just cleaned them up.
I hate to use a leaf blower because all it does other than give me an arm ache, is to make bigger piles that cause me more trouble with my son and the county.
I hate it because there are way too many to add to the compost pile and I'm back to burning and my son, and the county. You by now should get the picture. I hate dead leaves!
Then along came this thing from WORX they call a leaf mulcher that looks a lot like a barbecue grill. You plug it in and IT eats the darn leaves and turns them into MULCH! I like mulch. Now I'm almost seventy-five years old and pushin hard on forty, and I don't need all this aggravation, and have discovered that hate makes you older much quicker. The WORX Leaf Mulcher is one great machine that makes life so much easier and leaf mulching almost a pleasure.
The only thing I hate now is when the darn power goes out,or it rains and I can't mulch, and can't even burn the blasted things!

THINGS THAT I HATE!

Used it a week ago to do the leaves that had been bagged since last fall. Pleased with the results, some were used around the berries the same day and others stored in the bags until we redo a flower bed.
Liked the fact that the frame will hold the trash bags very well, pleased the the motor is in a sealed case.

Happy with new shredder

I bought this to chop up hay for my elderly horse whose teeth are no longer very helpful in chewing. The idea behind how this should work is sound, but unfortunately, the design has the cutting cords angled downward, so that they hit the metal edges of the bottom of the basket and are quickly cut to a length that is too short to be effective.

Good idea. Design needs work.

This product seems to have been used and returned. It was scuffed and dirty. And it was missing a (small, insignificant) piece that would have fit into a misshapen opening on the stand. Two of the four clamps would not close, and the plastic edge at those 2 clamps seemed also to be deformed, so that I could not secure the funnel to the motor housing. That's when I gave up and decided to return it.
