love for travel. great for folgers instant Coffee.  boil water for noodles, my big burner on stove went out, takes to long to boil water on the other burners, I just boil the water in my kettle and go from there. I could go on and on. any white water spots in bottom, just add teaspoon white vinegar and rinse.

I had a heavy kettle for years and wanted a sturdy but light kettle.  I looked in Walmart App and saw this Hamilton Beach 1 liter kettle in stainless steel.  The price was cheap compared to stores.  I ordered it and it came that evening.  what a gem of a kettle. very light and just right for myself.

The lightest kettle.

This kettle heats 3-4 cups of water faster than my microwave or stovetop, and even after it shuts off, my water stays hot for a good while! Perfect for my herbal tea or for quickly heating some water to make pasta on the stove when I don't wanna wait forever for it to boil! 
The top has an opening where you fill it that is pretty dang narrow, so if you have larger hands, you'll definitely need to buy one of those sponge brushes to clean the inside. I can just barely squeeze my hand inside and I am a petite woman. I was actually scared once because my hand was kinda stuck inside, but I finally got it out. I would ONLY recommend this kettle if you use distilled water in it, as I can see this getting caked up with mineral deposits that are impossible to get to and scrub off of the inside after a while. 
This small opening is my only reason for dinging it one star. Otherwise, I would have given it 5 stars. Still, it is better than those wide, squat-bodied tea kettles with small openings and the long neck that are generally harder to clean, in my opinion. 
The price was reasonable and the quality seems good, but I have only had this a short time. Time will tell if the electronics hold up for any length of time. I personally like it thus far, and I believe I would purchase it again if it ever needed replacing.

A Review of the Hamilton Beach Electric Kettle

I'm very pleased with this kettle! Bought to replace a similar but  electric kettle, and this one seems to hold more than as appears at first glance. For me, it's the perfect size for ease of pouring. I use it for tea, pour-over coffee and for anything needing hot water --- fast! Photo shows my morning coffee thermos (to the left of the kettle); a full kettle produces enough water to fill THREE of those thermoses within an inch of their top!

Great size for easy pouring!

This is a smaller version of my last one that lasted 7 yrs being used everyday. Its perfect the cord is same length as original big one. Family is smaller and this is less weight to lift for comfort. I hope i will get 7 yrs out of this one too! Has a water level strip and an auto shut off just like the 1.7 liter.Same length cord and stand too. You can take off stand to carry to sink to disinfect with boiling water.Perfect for the aging!Thank you Hamilton Beach!price was fab also! Thanks Walmart!

Luv this cute thing!

We've had this very kettle for years (about 16 or so?) and we've loved the speed, the stainless steel material, and the size. It's the Goldilocks of kettles so when it finally broke we were thrilled to be able to find it again! And you can't beat the price!

Goldilocks of Kettles and Can't Beat the Price!

This is the second time I've purchased this  little electric kettle. I have given it to friends as a house warming gift and they love it. If you want a quick way to boil water with a safety feature this kettle is great! It's smaller than the standard kettles so takes less space. A great kettle!

Great little electric kettle!!

I like the smaller size -- 1L vs. the more common 1.7L, as I rarely am making more than one serving of anything.  Heats fast, works well, price made it a no-brainer.  My only complaint is the power cord.  It is the most stiff power cord I've seen on a consumer appliance, and when teamed up with the very light weight base, it really often doesn't stay where you put it without the kettle on the base.  Very weird complaint, I admit.  Recently saw my brother's same maker, almost identical kettle, but 1.7L version, and his cord was quite "normal", so maybe I just got a weird one.

great small kettle, very stiff power cord.

The kettle heats water pretty fast and gets it pretty hot. The operation of the kettle works perfect no complaints about that part at all. However the top of the kettle is extremely small so washing out the inside by hand is impossible unless you have hands/arms the size of a two year olds. Also the base is too flimsy and without the kettle sitting on the base the weight of the cord alone can pull the base off the table. When the kettle is sitting on the base it is sort of wobbly and unnerving because it appears to be resting precariously instead of sitting firmly on the base. The base should be a couple inches thick and filled with sand to increase "heft" and appear more substantial. This would help anchor the base in place and allow the manufacturer to use a more substantial "latching system" to more effectively hold the base and kettle together while heating or not in use.  In summary, kettle works good, but you'll need scrubby brushes to wash it, but base not so good, very cheap and flimsy and that's the part with the 120v power supply. Fix these flaws/shortcomings and this would be an excellent purchase. Em Are Puddle Ducks cannot give this product any higher rating than "eh - ok" because of the aforementioned issues.

After 6 months or so it stopped working. Used it every morning to make hot water, and it up an quits. Wish I knew how to get a partial refund or replacement
