This snowblower has exceeded my expectations for power and snow removal.   It plowed right thru the pile left at the end of my drive by the plow clearing the street.  Never even grunted.  It starts first pull every time and has been a pleasure to use.

I purchased the Toro 721E right before an 18 inch snow fall in the Northeast section of the country. Being a senior citizen of female gender, I was pretty nervous about how well it would handle the aforementioned amount of snow. I didn't wait until the snowfall stopped because I wasn't sure if the snow blower could handle snow beyond a foot. I went out after approximately 8” had fallen and I must admit, I was thrilled with how it started with the first pull. It zipped through the snow quickly and with ease. Living on a cul de sac, the plow trucks leave large mounds of snow in front of my drive way. This blower had no issues with clearing it away. My neighbor was so impressed with it that he came over and took a picture of it and asked where I purchased it. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase. I love the fact that I can start it manually or with the assistance of electricity. It runs smooth and doesn't make a lot of noise. It slices through snow like butter. I also like the fact that you can change the spark plug without dismantling the whole machine. The only problem I have with it is that it doesn't clear the snow down to the pavement. You have to go over the same area several times to achieve that effect. I also don't like that the paddles are made from a cheaper rubber than their past models. In spite of some flaws, I would highly recommend this snow blower. It is a BEAST.

Toro Power Clear 721E

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just had the first big snowfall of the year and my Toro handled it like a champ. It starts on the first pull every time and clears right down to the pavement. What impressed me most is how effective it is for clearing the heavy snow piled up on our back deck; it's light enough to maneuver in tight spots but powerful enough to throw the snow way over the railing. If you're tired of breaking your back with a shovel, this is the best investment you'll make all winter. Absolute beast!

Great choice

The snow blower worked perfectly. It exceeded my expectations. However I am still waiting for the manual which I had requested over a month ago. I don't want to make any mistakes in the maintenance in the future. Thanks for your attention  to this matter.

Nice

The 21 in. (53 cm) Power Clear® 721 E Gas Snow Blower runs well and handles light, fluffy snow with no problem. However, it struggles with heavy, wet snow, and the small wheels can't compete with a two-stage self-propelled model. Anything under about 6" is manageable, but anything more than that and it really starts to struggle. For the price, I was expecting a bit more, though I understand this single-stage model has its limitations. For those reasons, I'm giving it 3 stars.

Good for Light Snow, Struggles in Heavy Condition

It worked fine the first time I used it but during this recent storm, I was half way through clearing my driveway and it just stopped working. It would not start again and the engine just keep cranking but would not start. I let it sit for a while, and I was finally able to get it started again and finish the job. I don't know why it would not start after running for about 30 minutes.

Power Clear® 721 E Gas Snow Blower

Having had a Toro snowblower before this one, I find the new one has a number of painful improvements. 

The gas tank lid is very difficult to open and close.

The pull starter needs someone with a pro-basketball arm's length to pull it.

Connecting a power cord is very difficult to connect to the snowblower.

Controlling the snow stream requires you to step to the side of the blower instead of remaining behind the blower. Very annoying when in tight spaces. My old one had a crank to change the direction of the output stream.

If the wheels were larger, the snowblower would be easier to maneuver.

However, power is better now that engine is 4-stroke vs the old 2-stroke....

Toro 721E Snowblower

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Poorer performance than my previous (5) Toro's. Engine revs are somewhat uneven. Plenty of snow getting kicked back beneath the snow thrower and at my feet. Previous Toros left a sharp clean edge, this thrower leaves a great deal of snow on the driveway. Wet snow cakes the wheels, so they often slide rather than turn. The  manual didn't answer several questions, used too little text, and relied on drawings. Called Toro support, the rep would only read from the manual. No help. He recommended I call my local authorized Toro facility.
Before I could finish my sentence,the nearest authorized Toro facility stated their shop only services electric models. Even YouTube tutorials let me down. No videos or info on this particular model. Finally, having to reach down to turn and aim the chute is a cheaper alternative to the previous excellent method Toro provided.
