Cable

This cable puller did the job for me without any issues what so ever.  I used this when I was installing a wire fence and needed to stretch the fence. I attached one end to the fence and the other end to a tractor and it held tension perfectly.

Great for pulling trees down, so they fall in the right direction.

It works very well so far.  I have only had it a week but used it to pull a lawn tractor and it was very effective.  The only thing I had trouble with was it is had to get the cable to pull out the first time.  I had to put it on a post and my wife and I had to pull on it.

sucked cable was all messed up would not release had to tear it apart to get it to release get what you paid for i guess

I bought this several months ago and immediately had to use my pickup to pull the wire out. I thought ok it will work when I get ready to use it. Put on a shelf for a couple of months but when i went to use it had to use a hoist to pull the cable out again.  Hooked it to a steel cable to put tension on a tree to make it fall where I wanted. Worked until I got a load on it then the pawl on the locking mechanism slipped and released most of the tension. I should have returned it for a refund the day I  bought it. It is completely worthless. went to northern tool and bought one for $44.00 (strongway brand made in china) that actually works. I have one at work (american power pull brand) that is the same brand but much heavier construction that works very well. American made is not always better.

Piece of junk!

Don't waste your money with this, I'm sure they have good and bad ones but mine I got. I 1st started using it the teeth on it were defective and a little after I started using it, the main bolt on cylinder came apart. Waste of money.

Junk

As others have noted, it is very challenging to release the cable. Also, I lliced my palm and 4 fingers open while trying to release it. All of the edges of the metal are very sharp. Definitely wear gloves if you are going to use this cable puller/meat slicer.

Purchased today. Returning today.

Poor product with SHARP edges

Terrible Design. Bought one in store and when the handle is moved it unlocks the sprocket.

Where as for it to ratchet its supposed to catch the sprocket with a spring loaded tab; it doesnt. The whole sprocket just free wheels after the cable is tightened rendering the whole thing useless.


I returned the item for my money back as its just a terrible design and would rather spend more somewhere else for something that is less of a hazard.

Poor Design that doesnt work.
