This generator is worth every penny!

Nice little generator. Started right up. A little heavier than expected and a little noisier. It is carbureted so will have to wait and see how it does at 7000'. PowerSmart supposedly sells an altitude kit which needs to be installed by an authorized dealer. There are only a few in the Western US.

Worthwhile purchase

I now have 20 hours on my PowerSmart 2500 inverter. It has worked flawlessly every time I pulled the cord. No complaints. 
I do recommend putting an hour meter on it and a magnetic dip stick before you even start it for the first time. It's important to change the oil after the first hour, after 5 hours and at 15 hours. This gets the break-in metal out and it's good to go for 20hrs which is the oil change interval from there on out. Use a hood small engine oil and it will last a very long time.

One Awesome Inverter

Incredible quality and value, for winter storm Fern 2026 here in MS.  Purchased this to keep our refrigerator and freezer contents safe and cold during the power outage and to charge phones and other electronic devices.  Added oil, gas, cranked right up and went to work.  Great insurance policy for less than $300!  1 gallon of gas lasts about 5 hours, FYI.  Alternating refrigerator and freezer, 1 hour on, then off for 4-5 hour intervals.  Perfect for getting by. Would make an exceptional generator for a small RV or for emergencies like this.  5 stars all day long!

Amazing generator at a superb value!

I ordered this in preparation for an ice storm, it arrived very quickly!  It is easy to move around with the handle, it was easy to get it ready to use.  You do have to remove a few screws %26 the side plate yo put the oil in, but it really was not a big problem. It came with a funnel to make it easier to fill.  Once it was ready to start, it cranked right up with no issues.  It was a little louder than I expected, but compared to other units it is quieter than most.  I think we will get a lot of use out of it, with its ease of portability. I would definitely recommend!

Affordable %26 easy to use!

I recently purchased the PowerSmart 2500W Portable Inverter Gas Generator at a great price and it runs great! It's important to read the operation manual. I then filled the engine up with oil, filled the gas tank, opened the 'air' valve on the gas cap to the ON position, turned the 'ON/OFF' switch to the CHOKE position, and pulled the starter cord. It started on the first pull-- easy peasy lemon squeezy. It's a great little machine
NOTE: I read through other reviews prior to purchasing and it's clear that some people clearly do not read the operation manual. For those who write a review and say the generator starts and runs but shuts down after 15 minutes... Please know that if you open (turn on) the 'air' valve on top of the gas cap your problem will be solved.

A Great Little Inverter/Generator for the Money

We seem to have frequent power outages in East, TN. After the last one of 5 hours and some food going bad, I bought this as a Black Friday special after lots of research. Not even two weeks later power was out from 11 pm to 9 am. Thankfull,y I had already prepped the generator, added oil, and did some test runs.
It powered our side-by-side refrigerator with ice maker and lights for 9 hours overnight on a single tank of gas! It is quiet in eco mode, but you'll hear it get louder for a moment when the compressor for the fridge kicks on. I unplugged it for a moment to run an electric kettle, but it might've ran both.

I did some testing, and it was able to run the garage fridge and the inside house fridge at the same time, but I'm not sure if it would do it if both needed to start up at the exact same time.

It is quieter than I imagined, but I think Honda and some of the higher end $$ models might be quieter.  Mainly purchased for home backup of essential appliances, but it's light enough to take camping or use for an small travel trailer. So far, no regrets based on what I paid. We'll see how it does over the long haul.

Great little generator

I am very impressed with this little generator so far. I bought it to run my Cpap machine when I am camping. The machine starts easily and is very quiet, especially when switched to eco mode. I am sure it will run my Cpap machine just fine, I was curious if I could run a skill saw off it. I was pleasantly surprised it ran the saw just fine. I have not used it yet at night to run my cpap machine, so I don't know how many hours it would run ) in eco mode) The only negative I would give it is having to unscrew two screws to remove a panel to access the dip stick. I would have liked a better access panel, but over all not a big deal. It is a nice little generator!

Used it 1 time started making noises so I turned it off checked the gas there was plenty checked the oil it was full. Went to start it back up and the pull start broke found 2 screws in the bottom of the unit and there is no way to take it apart to fix it
