[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Walmart's online shopping has improved vastly in the last year.  Previously I seldom bothered to look at Walmart's website because it was cumbersome and often without many options which appealed to me. That has changed dramatically and it is much appreciated.

Cornbread doesnt get any easier. This is perfect soil amendment. Its soft and gluffy and pure. Getting a pre-‘ix of potting mix is to tisky. They are sometimes filled with of big sticks, bark and even pebbles. This hluffy mix is perfect for creating a medium that encourahes root development

I love this product! I'm trying to get my yard repaired do to my wonderful neighbors who's dandelions and other weeds seem to like my yard!!! this works great planting new grass seed.  It's easy to use and it it helps my yard new grass fill in the bad spots. I keep it on hand to keep my yard looking good! The moisture is perfect with this product ☺️ I will continue to use. It's perfect!

This went farther than I expected and mixed readily in my garden soil that I had put in my grow bags.  This year, my plants will do better because their root systems can grow, breathe and move!!  

Happy growing everyone!  Also, if you can't find mulch to protect your plants from rain splashes, you could put some of this on top…. I think?   

I am going to re-order this to make sure I have plenty on hand.

Just the right size to add into my raised bed mix with other garden soil and cow manure and worm castings. People tell me I have a green thumb, I tell them I just take the time to learn how before I do. Excellent organic s to add if our growing blueberries or blackberries.

They were better before they were accosted by shrinkflation. Supposedly the 2.2 expands to 5 cubic feet. I don't remember what the 3.0 used to expand to but these seem much less than they should be give equal compression. Maybe it's a matter of perception but I wish they had just raised the price instead of lowering themselves to resort to shrinkflation. I reckon they think the consumer is stupid; perhaps too many are.

This organic peat moss is one of my gardening " Must haves".  I have two 12 foot flower boxes out front and dozens of pots and containers on my deck.  All of them have some of this peat mixed in with the soil and vermiculite to help loosen soil and  retain moisture.  I've tried other brands that got wet and heavy to move.  Their consistency was  chunky. This Premier brand is in a compressed bale that is sealed well enough to not get wet. It is pressed so there is a lot more volume than it appears to offer. I like the soft texture. With each planting, I scoop out a hole and fill with the peat. It is good for starting seeds or plants since it is loose and promotes root growth and moisture. The plantings then get some good soil and vermiculite on top to provide the environment for health. This has worked well on my vegetables and flowers. The one thing that is a challenge for me is the bulky size, but once its open I break it up and scoop from the bag.  This goes a long way when using as a supplement. The price is reasonable given the volume.

Good for the Garden

I have purchased this exact brand in the past and it was nice and uniform and soft, perfect for woody cuttings and seed germinating. This bag had lots of large chunks, bits of sticks and required to be processed through a couple of seives in-order to use for that process. Ended up just using as a garden soil amendment which it is likely more ideal for! But was not what I was expecting for the purpose I purchased it so I am giving it 3 stars to account for that.

Good soil amendment NOT propagating cuttings/seeds

I really like the peat moss itself but it has so many sticks and pieces of wood in it.
Makes it hard to use for seed starting unless you take the time to pull them all out.

I bought the same brand of Peat Moss last spring at HD and it was good stuff. Not the same here. This bag don't even look like Sphagnum Peat Moss. It was so dried out and other then the chunks of sticks in it, it was powder like fine sawdust. Didn't want to take water at all. As soon as I opened the bag I had to put on a dust mask. I mixed it with Black Kow and Perlite for container planting and it may or may not work but I'll use a different brand next time.
