[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A gentle delicate light lager subtly flavoured refreshing to the full. I brewed it come weeks ago and it came out very good, stand to the description. Note that only Yeast and malt is included, you will still have to have your breer brewing equipment and priming sugar. It will make a lot of beer!

Not a brewing kit

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Muntons Mexican beer kit makes up 40 pints of beer which about about 6 gallons. This kit comes with malt and yeast, and instructions. You still will need a few more things to get started like fermenter, brewing sugar or beer kit enhancer. After you get all the ingredients you need, you will have beer within two weeks. This Beer is full light flavor. This is great kit for anyone who is interesting in brewing their own beverage.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Never tried beer before but this was rather interesting. I had to find some friends that enjoy beer enough to help me make some and it came out okay. Definitely a tedious process but the end result was great.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Delicious, light, crisp with nice head. Best to let beer sit for a week or two, maybe 3 weeks. Nicely packaged. Included all ingredients and detail instructions.  You just need the bottle/container/keg to put it in.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My dad introduced me to brewing beer at home in the early 1960's when I was 14. Well, “introduced” may be the wrong verb here. Perhaps “startled” or “awed” would fit better. His favorite, most enthusiastically pursued hobbies were beer drinking, fishing, and drinking beer. So, tiring of drinking the cheap, local brew (Lucky Lager), he decided to make his own. He thought that his brew would be cheaper and better (neither goal was achieved). No kits, that I know of, were available in the early ‘60's so barley grain, sugar, yeast, and hops were purchased. Dad malted the barley, mixed the mash, drained off the wort, and began the fermentation process. I gathered discarded long neck beer bottles, and mom sterilized these. 

Dad had purchased a bottle capper and a hundred or so bottle caps. 
After the initial fermentation, the beer was syphoned to the sterilized bottles, capped, and mostly stored in a large kitchen cabinet/pantry. Dad took one case to his boss the next day. However, that night we were awakened to the sound of explosions: the secondary fermentation produced enough gas to explode several bottles (and this was the 1960's when beer bottles were thick). 

I was amazed. Mom was upset. Dad was fearful that the case given to his boss had or would explode, possibly ending his job. Hurried calls were made to the boss and additional disaster was avoided. Dad never again attempted to make his own beer, but kept beer drinking as his number one hobby.

One of my cousins came for a visit the next day and we entertained ourselves disposing of the remaining bottles of beer. We did this by throwing each bottle in a high arc, shaking it vigorously just prior to the throw. Some bottles exploded in midair, others when the hit the ground. Fortunately, none exploded 6 inches from our heads as we cocked our arms for a mighty throw. 

While the experience was exciting, I was reluctant to try my hand at home beer brewing until I was in my 40's. Got a kit, followed the instructions, made a small batch of barely drinkable beer that was more expensive than quality beer. In my 50's, a friend and I signed up for a brewing club that provided equipment and sold the needed ingredients. The beer was better (a lager), but was, again, more expensive that what you could buy readymade. 

Years passed, and I tried brewing with a home kit again. Similar results (not the exciting ones my Dad had, though). I ended up with two kits that I kept for a few years before giving them away. I forgot that I gave away both kits when I signed up to evaluate the Muntons Premium Mexican Cerveza ingredients kit. But, aha, I still had one glass 5 gallon water bottle that would work for fermenting. So, I cleaned , bleached, and fully sterilized the bottle. Then noticed a crack had formed at the bottom, making it useless for fermenting or any other purpose.

So, while I can't truly evaluate the Muntons Premium Mexican Cerveza ingredient kit, I can say that brewing your own beer is possible and this ingredient kit will make it a lot easier that starting from scratch (or barley). However, my experience also tells me that the brewed beer with be more costly and lower quality than any good beer you can buy at the market. 

With the above caveats in mind, I would recommend the Muntons beer making ingredient kit to anyone adventurous enough to make his/her own beer.

Makes Brewing Your Own Mexican Style Beer Easier

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The instructions for this brew is very simple to follow and brews a fairly smooth IPA. I believe there could have been a slight bit more yeast added to the brew but otherwise a good smooth home brew.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I cannot say that this kit was an easy process. I wish it had better instructions with illustrations for the materials needed. Since it was my first time, I was extremely intimidated by the process. I guess if the instructions were a little more like box cake, then it wouldn't be so daunting. In the end, I have much respect for the breweries.

My first time and probably last

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Yes, this does make beer, but there is a huge learning curb. It takes time to brew this for sure and you have to have a temperature-controlled environment. You also need a fermenter, possible a hydrometer and either bottles or pressure barrel. Everything has to be sterilized and then the wait begins. The beer taste okay but I just don't like all the time and effort it takes to make it. I guess this would come in handy when the Russians invades, or a certain political side turns America into a socialist country. Otherwise, it's a no for me.
