I love this thing. Presto after decades continues to make top notch products.
No disappointments or regrets here. Had the aluminum version for decades and continues to work flawlessly but recently decided for a backup and upgraded to the stainless-steel model.
These pressure cookers unlike the competitors are manufactured without overly engineered and complicated design such as that of the safety mechanisms.
Read and follow the accompanying manufacturer's instructions and apply common sense is all required.
My parents and I have been using Presto pressure cookers for over 30 years, same type of model and other than replacing the rubber seals which wear out with time and constant use have never experienced any negative issues.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used a pressure cooker like the one I had a long time ago. Have been buying ones with a computer. They last a while, then the computer messes up. So I bought the kind I used a few years back. The kind that don't have a computer. It was  Presto pressure cooker. I fixed pinto beans with fried cornbread. The pintos were really good. Wife ate with me, and she seemed to like them, too. So, no more computers on my pressure cooker.

Love it. I had a presto pressure cooker for over twenty years and loved it. When I came time for another cooker, presto was the way to go. They have improved them over the years, even though my original one was great. Wouldn't have any other kind. I'm so glad I opted for the stainless this time and went for the 6 qt. as well. Great product!

this is the same great easy to use quality I remember from childhood . I grew up using a presto cooker ( I am 53 years young ) . The Presto Cooker is not complicated , super fast and very pretty to look at . I love stainless and would always choose it over aluminum. . My first cook with this was cooking dryed garbanzo beans ...Always presoak your dried beans per instructions as you would if you were cooking on stovetop. Once the cooker started my garbanzos was ready 12 minutes after the jiggling started . The jiggling for inexperienced users is the pressure valve at the top of the cooker . It indicates that your cooker has reach the proper temperature point and is now ready.

My garbanzo's came out much more tender than canned and I made delicious spinach garlic hummus from it . I will give this product 5 stars and plan to buy a large presto stainless canner this summer . Bon Appetit !

easy to use , nice kitchen appeal

I purchased this cooker last year and loved it so much, I just now ordered the same one for my daughter for her birthday.  It's big enough for a family meal and small enough to handle when cooking and cleaning it.  And it's stainless steel, which is much better than aluminum.  It's a great addition to our kitchen utensils.

Presto 6-Quart Pressure Cooker, Stainless Steel

I had a Presto 6 quart for years and I stupidly gave it away. I regretted it and ordered the same exact one a few weeks ago. I love my pressure cooker and make at least one dinner a week in it. I don't know if anyone else feels this way but there's something really relaxing about the sound of the rocker and the steam while I sit and read on an autumn or winter day!

I love my pressure cooker!

Husband bought this for me as a replacement for my 40 year old pressure cooker that was also a Presto. Used it for the first time this past week. Works great! Always remember to check the hole in the top of lid and make sure its cleaned out. Found out that the rubber ring works best if it is wet when you put it into the lid before useing.

6qt. pressure cooker,Presto

This was a gift to my daughter. We used it last night to prepare a family meal. After assembly of the handles, washing and spraying with Pam, we placed the ingredients in the cooker. Once the pressure built up, it took less than 10 minutes to have delicious beef tips over rice/gravy. Presto did not fail us!

Really like how this six-quart pressure cooker cooks. Easy to use and clean, cooks dry beans just like the old Presto. Tips: 1. Avoid lifting the pot (empty or full) with only one hand on long handle; always use one hand on long handle and one hand on short handle to avoid wear/tear on flimsy screws. 2. Avoid lifting the top with the long handle; always use the lid itself due to flimsy screws.
Also, I tossed out the cheap aluminum cooking rack and instead use the stainless steel one from the old Presto. I gave it a "3.5" due to the screws, which get loose and are rusting after one month. Really now...a very nice product but with poor quality screws and cooking rack.

Like this six-quart pressure cooker, but...

I ordered online motivated on price. When I received the product, I was disappointed the quality of the stainless steel was poor. I had always owned and used 6Qt stainless steel Presto pressure cooker, but this product had left a question about the quality now on. Though, I decided to keep, and proceed to assemble the handles. After many attempts, I was not able to put in a manner that the cooker could be closed. I returned the product. The stainless steel quality was inferior, and I would consider an alternate aluminum product that is less pricy.
