I purchased a very nice knife set from Macy's a few years ago. Recently I noticed that the knives were not cutting like they used to. I decided to purchase this knife sharpener on line and had it delivered site to store. It arrived earlier that expected. When I used it on my knives I was extremely surprised. Not only did it sharpen all my knives within minutes but they were sharper than when I purchased them years ago. All you have to do is follow the few little instructions provided and your knives will be as good as new, no, better than new. This really exceeded my expectations. I will certainly recommend this knife sharpener to my friends & family.

Excellent Sharpener

walmart.com

I have purchased sharpeners in the past and been disappointed. This one is easy, fast, and does an excellent job.

Great sharpener

Well, my knives that could not cut though warm butter are now super sharp. I think I will start doing what professional chefs do, sharpen after each use. I will also purchase made in the USA knives like Chicago Cutlery instead of Made in China products. Cost more but I think it would be worth the investment in quality and the lifetime guarantee.

Excellent sharpener

The item is exactly as it shown. Good construction and beautiful. Tried the item and we got excellent results. Very good product for the price.

Excellent product

I have been a Master Mechanic and Hunter for 38 years
At first I was a little disappointed. Yet, once I understood some certain ways to use it properly. Example: I found if you use the Left GRINDING Wheel... you can make matters worse. It probably doesn't need it. test it lightly in Right Wheel and see if the original edge is at the same angle after a light pass. The real trick is to Learn the downward pressure and the speed you pull it through. This IS a Precision Machine! (If you know how to learn it)

Great Tool!

After reading all of the negative reviews and some positive, I decided to try this sharpener. The cost is low and Walmart's return policy is a no-brainer. In comparison to my manual sharpener, this electric sharpener is awesome. I'm sure there are better (and more expensive) sharpeners out there, but this one is great for my needs. I sharpened about 30 knives in about 20 minutes, and they've never been more sharp! I agree with other reviews that this sharpener lacks power, but as long as you align the blade correctly in the slot, this won't be an issue. It may, however, be an issue as to how long it holds up. I found it more productive to slip the blade in the slot and pull it through with no downward pressure other than its own weight. This kept the speed of the motor constant and allowed the blade to align itself. Both cheap and expensive knives were sharpened perfectly. Many were serrated (including the so called permanently sharpened "Ginsu" knives...ha!). This was not a problem, although with repeated sharpenings I can foresee the serrations being honed away. I'm very happy with the overall quality and price!

Great time saver!

Did a very good job with my non-serrated knives, though I did have to run them through many more times than recommended. Nice and small for easy storage and easy to use. Didn't see much improvement with serrated knives despite following instructions. Can't comment on durability since I just got it, but I'm happy enough that I'm buying one for my sister for Christmas.

Good for non-serrated knives

First thing I did when this product arrived was to drag out all the knives we've acquired over the years. Worked excellent on all of them. Some were expensive, some cheap. Haven't had knives this sharp since we used to take them to a commercial service. Just be patient, follow the instructions. You will get good results.

The reviews are right on this one.

Great little sharpener, has my knives cutting better than new.

Presto electric sharpener does good job

good for its price, get sharp quickly after a couple seconds but get dull quickly too after acouple uses.

Have used it for almost a year and still cannot get a decent edge on any of my knives. It is extremely awkward to use. Regardless how many times a knife is run thru, the blades never really get sharp. They will cut better than a dull knife but not like a sharp knife should. It is hard to get an even edge on the blade from one end to the other. Considering the robust size and look, I expected a far more powerful machine. It definitely is not a professional grade item. I am going back to my diamond dust sharpening stones as this is the third electric I have tried and none come close to setting a good edge.

Poor sharpener

presto eversharp electric knife sharpener, 2-stage system with sapphirite wheels front-facing silver and black countertop sharpener with two numbered slots (1 grind, 2 hone), central on/off rocker switch, molded precision blade guides and Presto EverSharp branding; compact design for most non-serrated kitchen and sport knives and suitable for quickly restoring and polishing edges for everyday meal prep.
