Great post. It is nice and tall for cats who like to stretch and scratch. Nice base that doesn't tip over. Very easy to assemble and looks great.

Original one that lasted 4 years was the base plus the post, this one the post was in two pieces.  The gap between the two, my cat could snag her claw and probably would hurt.

I liked the height because two of my boys are long. It's neutral and fit in nicely with our home, but it didn't hold up for very long. The rope became unattached only a few months after using and keeping it reattached is annoying. Glue doesn't work well and I'm afraid their claws will get caught if I use staples. Tipping has never been an issue, surprisingly. So the pic I'm including is how the scratcher looks today, after a lil over 1.5 years of use and failed mendings with glue and new rope! Despite the way it looks, they still use it, so maybe it's all been worth it?

It's a mess, but they love it still.

Well once you finish production of the product, nailing down staples that will definitely cause harm and tightening the chords it's OK, typical of the origin of manufacturing.

Preview Scratching  Post

The wood base was  damaged on the bottom.  The "rope" was not properly wound and there is a gap where the two sections screw together.  I'm sure the cats don't mind but it's quality appearance could be better.

Repackaged?

Base is too light to hold it in place. Cat just knocks it over. Basically useless, definitely not worth the money.

The post is really cheaply made. The top piece came off as soon as attached, in a way that makes it impossible to reattach without something like Gorilla Glue (the metal piece that fits the screw came right out of the wood and won't go back in). Also the post itself comes in two parts and the division between the two is clearly visible (unlike on the product page, of course!) and looks ugly. It seems pretty flimsy, so I'm concerned it might just fall over if any large cats try to use it...but this hasn't been a problem, as none of the cats wants to try it!

Don't waste your money

As I was putting the small wooden piece on top, the wood came apart from the metal insert which screws on. I have not been able to reinsert it securely and now there is a screw coming out of the top of that I am afraid might injure the cats if they climb up the post. It would be a great height for my taller cat -- but not sure I will use it.
