Value For Money

QUALITY: Someone commented that the buttons were not attached well...I agree. I put another couple of stitches with upholstery thread in each one. No big deal to me.
FUNCTION: Tons of pockets and organized very well. I have a large knife, a leather man, a partial roll of toilet paper, a rangefinder, 20 rounds of rifle ammo, and a few other items...still have room left for more. This vest can double as a small day pack. I particularly like the loops in the back for attaching a rolled up coat.
FIT: I'm 5'9" 160 lbs 33" waist and the medium is VERY large on me. I can put on a fleece coat AND my down-filled Duxbak coat and it fits over both of those with plenty of room to mount a rifle to your shoulder. It will be very loose in the summer; that's fine with me. If I were to use it only for hot weather, I would get a size Small.

Have yet to field test it but this thing has enough pockets to carry all the gear I'll need without a backpack. There were some critiques that the buttons could use a little more thread on some of the reviews and on inspection they could use a little reinforcement for the woods. The XL was on the upper end of the XL scale. Will easily fit over hunting coat & raingear. Well designed.

Great vest for a good price

This vest is exactly what I needed, it's not light duty, the last one I owned was flimsy material-cheap. The multi-pockets are just the right size and configuration for all of my gear. Hoping to get a lot of years use out of it.

Better overall than another vest I owned.

This is a great hunting vest.  Primos makes top quality items for hunters and this is no exception.  There are lots of pockets to keep things organized and some other nice features but the vest is a bit heavy.  The size medium weighs in at 2 pounds.

Also, the vests run big to accommodate heavy bulky winter jackets.  My chest is a size 40 and I originally purchased a Large but it was way too big even with my bulkiest Winter jacket.  I returned it for a size Medium and it fits much better so take that into consideration when ordering one of these.  Cheers!

Good Hunting Vest

CORRECTION TO MY 2/25/14 REVIEW...I bought a size LARGE not a Medium. If you're around 5'9" 160lbs, a Large is VERY... Well, Large. Sorry for the error.

Plenty of pockets and fits well over my hunting jacket. I especially like the hand warmer pockets and the backpack. I like it.

Primos Hunting Vest

Time will tell how well it holds up. It has many pockets for essentials such as compass, ammo, knife, cell, etc. It is large enough to fit over a warm coat. The fabric is a polyester that feels like cotton, and is quiet in bushes unlike nylon.

Vest appears to be good quality over all. However the buttons are sewn losely and will not hold up under extended use. I will be re-enforcing prior to going into the woods!
