These prisoner, color pencils are literally the holy grail set of colored pencils. Not only do they pack an immense color inside of every project you do they have every shade of every color you could possibly need. It comes in a giant box which requires you to be able to take it anywhere and they sharpen a very very easily.

I was first introduced to these pencils by a lady who was in a coloring group I attended, after a few classes she told us she was moving, and to my surprise decided to bless me with these pencils. 

I went from using 'Crayola Crayons Pencils' to these -- it's like growing from childhood straight into adulthood; wow, I have grown up and now a full fledged woman! These pencils are amazing! I love how smooth of a texture it produces; the rich colors are bold from start-finish and truly allows for ones creativity to develop. I also like the fact they didn't smudge as much as a few other brands I have encountered and with a heavy hand the colors tend to last. I, personally decided to rearrange the pencils by the colors from light to dark (oranges, blues, yellows, etc....) this I found made it much simpler when focused on my work and needing that exact color tone for my work. I found these were great for blending & shading, and so easy to use for basic beginners to the more novice at heart, and are truly soft to work with.

Cons: I didn't care for the gold metallic pencil in this set, and there need to be a better assortment of creams & tans for working with skin-flesh tones.  

For my birthday this month another member of another coloring group has blessed me with: Verithin Colored Pencils -- I can't wait to try them out.

I've had so many sets throughout the years.  As you can tell by the packaging this is a really old tin. The weight of the pencils feel nice and the color application is smooth and easy to layer.  To me they are a great value for professional colored pencils.

my favorite colored pencils for years

These are the most blendable, smooth, easy to color with pencils that I've ever used. Every single time I need a new pencil, I go for Prismacolors. I often find myself going to art stores just to find new shades to add to my collection, they're great for adding pops of color to sketchbook pages or doing entire illustrations in. I can't recommend them enough.

once i used these - i absolutely will not touch another coloured pencil because nothing else compares. They are so pigmented, light weight, the blending is brilliant and i can not fault them! I buy them for every single arty friend for their birthday!

I've tried many brands, but Prismacolor Premier pencils remain my favorites for one reason: their creamy texture. The 150-color set is impressive because it offers a smooth, even blend The tones are almost perfect, which makes blending and blending much easier without leaving harsh lines.
Q The 150-piece box comes in a sturdy and well-organized package. It includes internal plastic trays that make it easy to access all the shades without having to mix them up.I love the durability.

The best investment for artists and color enthusia

The tin came in dented, not sure what happened in transit, I just hope it doesn't effect the integrity of the pencils later. If something fell on them, then it might have shattered they're cores. They really don't package this well. However the pencils themselves are great. I love this brand a lot. Once you get the hang of them that create smooth vibrant colors that blend well for shading.

The Prismacolor 150 set is honestly amazing to use. The colors are super rich, they blend so easily, and there's a ton of variety to work with. The pencils feel solid and hold up well even after a lot of sharpening. My only downside is the price—it's definitely on the higher end—but if you draw a lot, the quality really shows.

Great quality and blendability, just a bit pricey

These Prismacolor colored pencils are great pencils. They are smooth while coloring, are good with shading, and have vibrant color. They sharpen easily, and have any color you need for whatever you're using them for. You can layer the colors, and I color pretty hard, and none have broken so far, and I've used them alot.

Any color you need, and vibrant colors

If your priority is smooth blending, expressive layering, and a wide palette, this set is often regarded as one of the better mainstream artist-grade colored pencil options.

But it demands a gentle hand: press too hard or sharpen roughly, and you risk breakage or inconsistency.

For archival or display work where fade-resistance is critical, you might want to check how lightfast the specific colors you'll use are (or consider using a “lightfast only” line).

smooth blending, expressive layering, and a wide p

I've only good reviews about the product, but mine is a Christmas gift and remains unopened now.  However, the metal tin the pencils arrived in by mail was badly dented in. As these pencils are very expensive, I'm so hoping the pencils are not damaged as well. The box the pencils were mailed in was not crushed at all which tells me that Walmart mailed the pencils in the damaged metal container. It's not gift I'm happy to give since it is damaged,  but the pencils in the quantity are very hard to find right now. :(
