I bought this to take traveling.  When we stop at hotels I enjoy a cup of coffee or tea in the morning before we leave for the day. I don't like using hotel coffee makers so I bought this to heat up my water and make tea or instant coffee.  I know it's clean and fresh.  Also I like the fact it has a window so you can see the water heating up. The automatic shut off feature is a great selling point.  Great price too.

Exactly what I expected. Quick to boil, LOVE the auto shut off, see thru window. Only wish the electric cord was longer (then I wouldn't have to unplug to pour). VERY GOOD PRICE

Excellent

Came when expected in perfect condition due to sturdy packaging. Well pleased with pot and use it at least two times a day.  Like the auto-shut off in case I am not watching it when I step away.

This works just fine. My mother had one just like it and I liked hers so well that I bought one also. At first I thought mine was defective because it did not work. I just needed to push the plug in more firmly and it works like a charm. No complaints.

water heater

I have owned this kettle for over 2 years and use it every day and so far I think it's very durable. I don't agree with the others who complain about cheap construction. It's a perfect size for work and heats up fairly quickly. The only flaw it has is that lime deposits eventually build up on the element. I have read that these are not harmful and to remove them one should boil fill the jug with water and 1/4 cup or so of vinegar. That works, but then the element looks rusty. I have also read that a rusty element is not harmful either but I don't know if I feel great about that. Next time I will buy a kettle with an element that never touches the water. Unfortunately I haven't found any in this compact size. Oh well.

Oh, and BTW, if anyone feels they have to justify not using a microwave to anyone at work, tell them that you don't find the idea of your boiling tea water steaming the gunk from other people's lunches off the roof of the microwave very appetizing. That should be enough for them to totally understand your need for a kettle!

Great Kettle with one Flaw

Boils water FAST but makes more noise as it heats up than I expected. Loud for office with open plan work areas.

Works great. Had one for a 5 years and it worked well. Short cord so I would not recommend this. Cord is only 12 inches long so you have to inplug it every time to fill it up. Eventually it will damage the plug and break.

It was DOA!  I think it was one in a thousand. Electric Kettles, are great and
will repurchase it.
