Being using Rid-X for 20 years in the older house septic tank with only one commercial draining of our septic tank. New home and septic tank is now 6 years old and never have had a single problem with toilets, wash basins, sink, bath tubs, washer, dishwasher draining correctly. My regiment is one box of Rid-X in each toilet bowl every three months. I have had great success with Rid-X.

I've been using it for over a decade and we haven't had any septic issues and as far as we know our tank hasn't been pumped out or maintenance by the previous owner since at least the '80s. I'd say it's working. it's cheap insurance. I do think it's doing its job or we would have already had a backup. I'll know for sure next summer when I have the tank pumped out. but I would definitely recommend it for  cheap insurance. I feel like I'm buying time. if I learn different I'll delete and rewrite the review.

great if it works so far it's been over a decade

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I need RidX for my septic system. I cannot always find monthly treatments at other stores or online. I do not like to use a multiple month box because I can't tell if I am using enough or too much each month. I prefer the monthly treatment box.

Doesn't really help with clogs, not supposed to. But always works in the cesspool, always eats away at whatever thinning it enabling it to drain. RidX is good shhh

Good shhh

We have a septic system and try to be very careful so we don't have to replace the septic or leech field. Rid-X helps with that goal. We have used Rid-X for the 4 years after our septic system had to be replaced . We love that we can buy a box the size we need and buy them in a package deal. This makes using the product easy. We use it in all the drains and have been pleased with the results (no backups or slowness in draining, etc.

Inexpensive Method to Keep Septic System Working

My parents had to pay a lot to have their septic pumped out only after a year and a half of having a new pump put in. That's when they decided to try Rid-X. They used it religiously every month for 22 years without any septic problems. Now I have been leaving in their home for the past 2 years and continue to use Rid-X every month, still without any septic problems.

The generic brand is s inferior to Rid-X.  If you smell gaseous sewage pour a box of this into the toilet.   It lasts no more than a few weeks.  I had to use 2 boxes, a week apart at times.  It's not for apartments connected to a sewer.   Look for info about septic tanks.  Price is going down lately at Walmart for this product.  It's a grain based digester with some bio-enzymes.  Cost is $6.50 per month.   It was $10 or so.  Works very effective

There was a lot more powder in this box .Initially thought the box is small, but once you start pouring it out, it's a ton of product in there.Well worth the money i'm waiting a few days to see how well it works.

Packaging needs to change. The product leaks out everywhere and gets all over everything by the time you actually get to use it only half the boxes left.

This particular shipper did not put the boxes of Rid-X in plastic bags so the bacteria leaked out into the cardboard box. Normally each box is in a plastic bag. This is a terrible shipper. My other shippers prevent spilling of the bacteria with the individual plastic bags. I had a mess in my bathroom from spilling out of the bacteria in the card box box. The product is good .
