Used one of the three pack starters. This was done in the rain, outside in 45 degree temperature.
Took a little while to really ignite the logs, which were about 6-8 inches in diameter. However, really didn't expect it to take but it did.
Would I recommend this product, Yes.
Did have problems with shipping. But I don't hold that against the company, or the product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product makes setting up a campfire soooo easy! What sets it apart is that you can use it in any, and I mean ANY weather! I always have one in my backpack, for hikes, camping, or emergencies. Try this, you won't be disappointed!

A must-have for camping!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] great starters. make sure you wrap the green string a few times around your anchor piece of wood if you are using an indoor fireplace as the red ignition cord is quite long. only real downside to these are the price. they burn pretty hot and for a decent amount of time to ignite kindling.

Great but expensive

tried this thing out and it was amazing. Quick pull of a string and a loud pop and it goes up. Its even got another string you can loop around a large log if you don't want to hold the block when you pull. They mean it when they say you don't need kindling. You could have a single log and this thing and it will get you a fire going. Fumes are a little rough but stay out of the smoke and you will be just fine. Keep out of the hot car or direct sun though, because part of its wax it can get a little soft. Still works fine, just makes handling a little messy.

We used it late at night without any kindling and logs that had been lying on the ground for probably at least a couple months.  It worked perfectly!
