never saw this roller until I was in Canadian Tire Bracebrisge and thought I would give it a try .Yes slightly more expensive BUT what a joy to work with.
I will keep a supply on hand from now on.
Never read the package before but paint ability for holding and NO splatter way above expectation.

I spent lots of money on my paint, so I figured I might as well have a quality roller cover to apply the paint on my walls. I've used cheap roller covers in the past, never again! Marathon was GREAT! It applied the paint very nicely and held lots of paint so I didn't have to keep going back to the tray. I painted my room much faster with this roller cover than others I've used in the past.

Perfect! Holds Paint and gives a Smooth Finish!

As a painting contractor with more than 45 years of hands-on experiences. I can say that the Purdy 'Marathon' 1/2' nap roller I received via promotional mailing, is more than adequate for any smooth or light textured latex/oil paint project the average home owner (or contractor for that mater) would ever need.
This covers' core feels strong with a nylon/polyester, (this combination has proven to be more durable in paint brush bristle production) fabric face held a more than adequate amount of paint that released well during application. Most new covers, even the best, require extra time to be spent out of the bag to ensure satisfactory results. This cover required -very little- prep to assure a flawless finish.
I used the cover to apply 2 coats of quality latex eggshell finish on a medium sized smooth-walled remodel job done to an 82 year old dinning room which proved trans-formative according to the owners. I am looking forward confidently to be using this same roller cover on as many as 10 similar paint job applications because of my quick-post-job-clean-up procedure. This cover cleans up so well, that most people would be hard-pressed to tell it had even been used.
I could go on, but suffice it to say my experience was very pleasant while using this cover and the satisfaction payed off for others ie. Happy clients.

Great Product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I buy these rollers in bulk for my painting business. They hold a ton of paint and they last for multiple projects (if you have enough patience to wash them). They leave a high quality finish and can be used with almost any paint that I am using. They are very versatile and I use them for both interior and exterior applications.

Best Roller Covers in the business!

I found the Purdy marathon roller cover held more paint than most covers I have ever used. The half inch works good on flat and eggshell finishes anD the 3/8 worked good on Satin and left too much stipple for semi gloss when a 5/16 or 1/4 would work better. It certainly did speed up production on my jobs. Ithe was a little fuzzy the first us, almost needs washed and spun out first.

Purdy Marathon

This roller stayed efficient & fast loading throughout the day. I needed to stain a huge deck & the heat & sun made it extra difficult. I had to roll then back brush. The Marathon roller loaded quickly & did not lose its efficiency. It got the right amount of product onto the surface.

Held up for a long day of work .

No lint roller is a good thing for a professional job. Economy roller covers from Home Cheapo made a mess of a job recently for me and I will stick with the Marathon covers from now on. Good product : offer a contractor 6 pack. Purdy is the industry standard...always has been, Vince the painter.

good roller cover

Used today to paint textured ceilings. Roller shed heavily at first but for the remainder of the job, the shedding ceased. The roller had great paint pick up and released paint better than most rollers I have used for textured ceiling painting.

I bought two 18" 3/8 nap rollers. upon using immediately tufts of fiber came loose; stuck with it and had to keep cleaning. the longer i went with it, it calmed down but what a hassle ; didn't dare open the second roller just wrapped the first and kept using until done. Cannot believe Purdy would put out such a poor product.
