It has a hissing sound that is barely audible, but it is not silent.  Otherwise, I'm pleased. I have owned a Guardian humidifier for more than ten years.  They are reliable and durable. That's why when my old one finally conked out, I bought another one.  I run my humidifiers day and night for six months out of the year.

I have previously purchased a humidifier from Pure Guardian.  It lasted many years.  It was a work horse.  This new one from Pure Guardian is a step above my previous humidifier.  I heartily recommend this model.  It is so quiet, puts out great moisture, and is absolutely quiet.

Great humidifier

I am very happy with this humidifier. I have had fewer headaches due to the dry heat. It covers a very large area so I don't need to move it. It holds a lot of water so you don't have to constantly refill it. 
My only concern is the lid doesn't snap on so if it gets knocked over it's going to dump water all over the floor. For this reason I DO NOT recommend it for kid's rooms or high traffic areas. I don't have kids at home or dogs so it's perfect in my living room. It's exactly as described , arrived very quickly and in perfect condition. Very well packaged. I waited a couple of weeks before writing this review. I wanted to be able to test it thoroughly before making a hasty review.

Purchased this humidifier last winter season and loved it: large 2-gallon capacity, warm and cold mist, truly silent operation, and easy top filling. Found it again this year for the best price at Walmart, and delivery was super fast.

Great Humidifier at a Great Price

I love everything about this humidifier! Well, with that said, it could have more of a home decor look to it. Maybe stainless steel and black? Regardless, I've been using mine for about 5 months now and it is so easy to fill and clean. I fill it with a 50/50 mix of white vinegar and water and let it sit for several hours and then rinse and wipe it down with a clean cloth.  I love the TOP FILL feature as I just take a pitcher of filtered water over to the unit and make a couple trips filling it. I keep mine anywhere from the low to medium mist setting (cool mist). I think I read somewhere that the warm setting uses water faster. I haven't even tried it as the cool setting seems to keep the humidity up in my house just fine and I get 2-3 days of use out of one water fill. I may buy another for our dry winters just because forced-air heat really brings the humidity down in the house faster than anything. It makes a huge difference for me as I suffer from dry sinuses. This unit really can crank out the mist! I also like that it has dual directional nozzles to adjust the mist to more than one direction. I don't use the oil tray so I can't speak to that, but I definitely love the 2-gallon water capacity, the top fill feature, dual directional nozzles and its multi-speed functions. Wish the price was a little lower, but you get what you pay for!

BEST HUMIDIFIER I'VE FOUND!

I bought this recently as I've been having trouble sleeping. I've never been happier!! The humidifier works instantly and helps with the drive air in my bedroom. I also love the aromatherapy tray as I use it for my oils to help me sleep.

Amazing Humidifier!!

This is a piece of junk. Warm mist does not work (it's brand new). After 4 days it started suck up the water like crazy.

I fill this unit with about 3 to 4 liters of water every night for a 6-7 hour sleep.I turn it on to medium warm mist. 100 hours must be the natural evaporation time if you never turn it on . I bought it to combat the dry Alberta mountain winter air, but still wake up with blocked sinuses. I use it in a small 350 square foot bedroom with the door closed . The only way to turn it off when I wake up is to pull the plug because of the flush mount, non-existent buttons.Long story short...don't waste your money on this .I write this review only because I bought it based on reviews . Big mistake ! Hope this helps the next person thinking about it.

100 hours ?

We recently bought this humidifier and if you like to have it on while sleeping I do not recommend because It makes constant loud dripping sounds. For the price I expected it to be very quiet.

Had this for a week. Worked great, then all of a sudden it stopped working. I took it apart and cleaned it with the little brush that came with it and and still nothing. Too much money for it only lasting for a week.
