I am an old fashioned country woman who prefers   good old   rock salt over all the other compounds out there.I use it on my back steps and places where I get ice build up ,like around the barn  where I do watering.It works great, doesn't effect the animals that are out and about. ..this brand was inexpensive and I was thankful to get it ,as it's getting harder to find.

Great Product

I have a long, pavered driveway that sometimes gets "weedy" in the spaces between the pavers.  Yes, I used the polymeric sand between the pavers, but weeds find a way. By brushing this Rock Salt over it, and then watering it (or letting the rain water it), the weeds are eventually killed.  The organic matter that breaks through the polymeric sand is infused with the salt and rendered unfit for nurturing weeds - for a while, at least.
