PROS
1. Dries like a very tough rubber that will expand/contract with heat and cold and not dry and shrivel up exposing gaps again and/or fall out
2. It is easily painted over. This caulking comes out gray not white but is easily painted over.
3. Bugs hate this stuff. I had an ant problem on my porch. I sealed the long slight gap between cement porch floor and the cement block house and ants cannot get through the rubber seal and they don't try to eat through it either. I sprayed D-Foam Insecticide using the straw down inside the seam before sealing it with Quikret Polyurethane Mortar Joint Sealant.

CONS
NONE

TIPS
1. Buy cheap plastic disposable gloves. This stuff is VERY STICKY. I used a tool to smooth grout into corners and along seams but always end up using my index finger as it is just easier.
2. Remember after cutting off the plastic nozzle to poke something down inside the nozzle to break the seal so the caulking can flow. People writing the caulking is hard or not coming out is because they did not poke the seal. The seal is there to prevent the caulking from drying up.

I have a large wood porch attached to a over 50 year old cement block home. All houses get cracks in them especially if you add a cement block addition. Houses settle over time which causes cracks also. My porch is 23' long with huge beams. I research everything before I try to do something or buy something. I wanted to seal the cracks in my house and seal all seams where the porch connected to the block house and where the wood met wood before I painted everything. I had a structural engineer verify the cracks were normal which I already knew before I purchased the house but wanted to be doubly sure.

Someone previously used a white caulking in the outside cracks which shrank/shriveled up basically useless. To avoid that I researched what type of caulking would stay. I only want to do this once. A Youtube video showed a contractor guy using Quikrete Polyurethane caulking saying this has staying power. Intrigued, I purchased 2 tubes. Wow. This stuff is STICKY and when it dries....IT STAYS. The long crack between the old and new addition is now filled in completely and covered. When I paint over it, it won't even be that noticeable. The seam between the cement porch floor and the new block addition was caulked and no bugs can go down there.
