Cooling Performance

Remote Control

Comes with a remote for easy temperature control.

We had to replace a window air conditioner in a window in a camper. Thought I had measured right. Not quite. Bute with a hacksaw and prayers it fit. It works soooo good and keeps us very comfortable. I love the remote and the thermostat It keeps us at the same temperture even at 98 outside. The delivery guy for Fed Ex even set it insidie out door for us.

Great

walmart.com

I put this in my Mom's bedroom and it keeps her nice a chilly. She complains b/c she gets too cold. That's the point! This little guy is pretty powerful and the thermostat works great.

Nice and Cool

Great unit

The unit works great..but when I received it the box looked like it had been dropped several times..opened to inspect n the unit had a sm dent on the back..but it was so hot I plugged it in to see if it worked..we'll it did..does what it's supposed to do..but u I didn't know I was buying a scratch and dent

The packaging of the boxes was terrible.

Purchased 2 of this same a/c unit after the 2 we had died in mid- August. They were inexpensive and energy efficient. They didnt seem to cool as well as our older units and they were the same BTUs but they worked fine. The remote is convenient too.
The only complaint I have is one of them was banged up during shipping causing the fan to hit something else inside the unit. Just bent it back and it runs fine.

GOOD FOR THE PRICE

Figuring out how to install the curtains on the side was a challenge. The instructions are not that clear. But once installed the unit is super quiet and cools my 800 sq ft area very well. The directional vents are like a cork screw, so it is a little difficult to aim them to a specific spot but again, the unit is quiet, it cools well, and it was cheap. What more can you ask?

Quiet and Cool

placed this unit in window and turned on first time, air is very cold and built in thermostat works great

air conditioner

Purchased it for a bedroom and have not been disappointed.

Works Great

This RCA air conditioner is the bomb. It keeps my 3 rooms cooled at 72 degrees. Thanks for a great window unit

Works great cools way more than the room I bought it for and installed it in. Some days I even use it instead of my main AC in the front room.

This unit is designed as if you have a completely flat sill and window transition, and old aluminum frames. It's also only able to go in a window that opens vertically (up & down), and not horizontally (slides sideways), which IS NOT MENTIONED IN THE DESCRIPTION. The instructions are horrible black and white photos that you can barely see. There is no mounting hardware for regular horizontally sliding windows. The bottom isn't flat, so even if you do get it in, your sill and wall can only be a certain maximum thickness. They also tell you to screw into your window frame, which is a huge NO-NO these days. What the heck is wrong with this company? No wonder we're seeing less RCA/Curtis branded junk. The design is absolutely appalling. I can't even take it back because I have no vehicle and now I have to spend who knows how long in the sweltering heat before I can get a better unit. This one is designed with 70's building code in mind. DO NOT BUY.

Absolutely Appalling

RCA 8,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner with a front-facing white rectangular design featuring dual adjustable air vents on the top right and a digital control panel with LED display and buttons on the top left. The lower front has a wide horizontal grille. Suitable for window mounting, it cools rooms up to 350 sq. ft., offers 3 cooling and 3 fan speeds, an easy-clean mesh filter, sleep mode, timer, and energy-saving features.
