The tankless water heater that we received and was installed at our home has been a good addition to our home. The advantage  of having one  versus the typical bulky  water tank is great with  on demnand hot water, physical space and energy savings set this system appart of the traditional  ones.

Reliable Product meeting our expectations

I've had this for about six months now and overall it works well and heats relatively quickly. At first, you do need to get used to waiting a little longer for hot water at certain taps, but once it comes through, it gets very hot and you don't run out. It has met my expectations and has been reliable so far.

Reliable and Efficient Hot Water Experience

Pros: Reliable constant temperature!   Gas Bill Savings!!  Con's - it can take a lot of time for some areas of the home to receive the hot water and it significantly wastes water this way.

The system could easily be designed that it has a separate heating system for the longest distance from the main component that works together with the system!    If the system did that, I would give it a five star rating, no doubt for the conservation of water and the efficiency gained in time!

My problem is not so much with the device, but with thidway tankless operates. While the Rinnai is no doubt highly efficient and will probably reduce my gas consumption, much of the saving will surely be erased by increased water consumption. My house is very small, but the kitchen is furthest from the water heater (about 35 ft)  Water flows for a full minute before it starts to feel warm and a further 10 seconds until it runs hot. The heater is set to a modest 115 degrees, so it's not like it's working hard. Although 70 seconds doesn't sound like a long time, it's horribly inconvenient and wasteful in practice. If hot water is needed again within 3 minutes, then there's almost no delay, but after that, it's back to 70 seconds. Had I known this before purchase then I might have considered other options.

Disappointed

For some reason, ever since the product was installed, I can hear noise from the pipes from within the walls. This might be because of the expansion and contraction of the pipes, I am not sure, but the installer said that he didn't do anything wrong. You need to wait at least 30 seconds to 1 minute to get hot water, depending on how far the tap is from the product. You might also hear noises from your pipes after the product supplies hot water. The good thing is that the product is small in size and doesn't occupy much space. The supply of hot water is constant and not an issue.

Good, but with issues.

Sensitive to dust in air intakes and exhaust.  Constantly giving exhaust vent errors.  LOUD.  Takes forever to heat up water (5 mins) but when it finally does, it's nice.  Until it overheats, then shuts off due to being on too long.   Endless hot water my Fanny.  Not true

First Tankless experience NOT GOOD

Operating for 6 months, during which gas use dropped by 1/3 while water use increased. Dislike waiting 2-3 minutes in the shower for hot water, then sometimes the water goes cold for several minutes. The last power outage was challenging since it needed electricity to operate.

Time & Water Waster

The fan is too loud and runs for 3 minutes after hot water flow stops, whether the water had been on for 5 minutes or 5 seconds. Unless lack of space is the reason for installing an on-demand unit, I highly recommend going with a hot water tank instead.

Noisy

It takes a long time to get hot water, especially during the winter, so it's not a worthwhile product for colder months. When two taps are used at the same time, the water flow to the other tap decreases significantly. It also wastes a lot of water while waiting for it to heat up, which increases the water bill. I would not recommend this product to anyone.
