<p>You don’t have to worry about your greenhouse temperature or plants to wilt or damage, from extra heat or cold.  You don’t have to worry for opening and closing the greenhouse vent, the Automatic roof vent opener just makes gardening easier.  Automatically opens and closes the roof vent window when temperature changes. The opener has a metal cylinder containing special material which expands when heated. This pushes a piston that opens the window. As the temperature cools, the material shrinks and a spring closes the vent and resets the piston. The opening and closing of the window is gradual allowing just the right amount of air flow for cooling.  All you need to do is to install it on your roof vent window and it automatically starts working.  Works with ALL RION greenhouse models only.</p>

Ease Of Installation

Performance

Installation is straightforward once you know the trick. The item ships with the piston unconnected, which is logical. The instructions advise refrigerating it for 30 minutes and then pushing it in. However, using a board to push against makes the process much easier. It works perfectly.

Installation was like a walk-around, even though our greenhouse roof wasn't perfectly centered. The vents open and close wonderfully. These are ideal for our 10 x 12 Palram Chalet greenhouse.

Fantastic opener!

Purchased as a replacement part for a 12 year old Rion Prestige greenhouse.  This opener is slightly different from the original part but not an exact fit. Metal edges are a little sharp so wear gloves when installing. The piece connecting to the window does not line up well. I was only able to install 1 screw to attach it. We'll see how it does in the high winds during the spring months.
