The metal ones, even the rainbirds are problematic compared to these plastic ones. This is one place where brass or zinc is not needed - the plastic ones have a much faster action and do not bugger up from minerals in the water. These rainbirds actually have a tip that can be removed and different GPM can be achieved. But not certain if this particular one qualifies. I have many, and they all replaced zinc or brass units.
