Had a booting problem with the original unit and it was replaced under warranty - a significant hassle b/c it took 4 months and 4 visits by the installer to satisfy Raymarine's process.  
I also don't find the Lighthouse 3 system intuitive and the number of layers to complete desired functions is cumbersome.. garmin is MUCH more intuitive/simpe.

The unit performs nicely. directions sometimes not easy to follow i.e. changing time (not listed) as far as could see. My biggest problem is the audible alarms. Not loud enough. Can not hear them when under power or sailing.

Very user friendly, install was quick and easy. Processor is fast from screen to screen.

Axiom 7

This is a great chart plotter and it is capable of so much more than just providing a map of the coast. If you explore all the menu options you can tailor all its functions to suit your needs. If you intend to mount this in a console, I would recommend paying extra for the Pro version with the keypad attached as the card slot in the 12RV is accessed from behind. Also the keypad version gives an alternative to touchscreen, which is useful if the screen is wet.

A very complete plotter although I feel that it is aimed more at the power boat/fishing community than the pure sailing fraternity, but I am very satisfied with the product. It would have been nice to have been able to use it more since purchased but Covid put paid to that. I have yet to get to grips with all that it has to offer!

A great upgrade from the previous

Product is very nice.  Wish there was more instructions on the fish finder.  Also, wish it was easier in gps mode to track the line you are fishing to return to hot spots.

I purchased an entirely new Raymarine package in 2018 in order to upgrade an older electronics suite on my sailboat. Other than the Color HD Radar, everything was replaced. Knowing full well that I had purchased a "new" generation of helming products, I was cautiously optimistic. The AXIOM 12 unit is good, but has become slower with the later SW updates I've installed in order to take advantage of certain features. I have archived old routes, waypoints and tracks, but sometimes the unit still becomes confused and slow to either update or present correct navigational details of position, chart changes, etc. The touchscreen is not really responsive when it is a little damp or wet either. This can be especially frustrating when attempting to use the swipeable power off/on touch bar. I have been researching the latest AXIOM + line of products because of the slowness and the newer screen coating that, as specified by Raymarine, is more responsive than older models. After logging more than 100k NM's on the package, I believe it is a solid value. I have experienced some intermittent unexplainable challenges with the SeaTalkng network but have worked thru them accordingly. All devices aside from the ITC-5 Transducer Analog-Digital Converter have held up nicely. The SW updates that have introduced newer features are also a plus.
