I have been a Grisham reader for many years, since one of his first novels.  This book is very long, very detailed in parts, and could have been a bit shorter.  Parts 1 and 3 would have fit together better if Part 2 had been condensed to fit the other parts better.  While I appreciate the history lesson of WWII (who knew that MacArthur wasn't the stellar soldier history would like us to believe?), the length of Part 2 really doesn't fit with the other two parts.  The last five chapters have interesting twists that kept me reading.
