Nice product but why cheap out on the bolts.  The bin is supplied with plastic bolts and metal nuts. Every nut cross threaded. I had to go and get real bolts to properly assemble.  Be sure to have the proper hardware  12- 5/8 x 1/2-in nuts and bolts.

Nice but...

Like it as same size as one I'd had.  This one not quite as sturdy construction. This works fine, especially the stirring stick.  One thing that would make it so much easier to use would be a handle on the top of the cover.  It's a bit awkward to remove the cover or slide it away to put stuff in.  Also, high wind can blow it off.  Well vented.  Good access to compost on bottom.

Good compost bin, but should be stronger.

This was much easier to assemble than anticipated.  The grove in each side and 12 nut and bolt connection were obvious.  Loved the little protrusions to anchor in the ground.  Measures LxW and used garden trowel to dig a 1 inch ditch then set the unit in and racked in loose dirt to the unit.  L layered compost contents and used the handy spreader tool (that is much better than awkward shovel) and set lid on top in the groove.  I placed a large heavy rock on the lid to anchor fit the occasional high winds in my rural home on the Plateau in TN.  The unit is made of sturdy medium weight black plastic just as it appears in the picture.  Assembled it was just heavy enough to know it will hold up to years of use but not so heavy this 74 years old senior couldn't carry it 75 feet fir placement.  I especially like the 4 sliding doors allowing access to contents.  This is a much better compost bin than my previous requiring a shovel and sliding door that did not work as the bin filled up.  Best of all is that it  is the best bang for your your buck!  I think it is the best deal out in retail and I am pleased as punch with my purchase.   Highly recommend to anyone without exception!

Best Composter at the Best Price!

It is very easy to put together, I like the fact that it sets on bare ground. I think the long twisting stick will work good at keeping things stirred up. I had a barrel style and it got to hard to turn and compost would fall out.

Compost Bin

I bought this after reading a New York Times article about how easy this product is to use for beginner composters. So far it's great. We follow the guidelines that came with it, and, as promised, no bad smells or critters.

Pleasantly surprised

Easy to assemble and just the right size for my wife's greenhouse.

Makes my wife happy

It was easy to set up and seems to be working fine! Sturdy.

Solid and unobtrusive

Putting this together and found that one screw did not come with it.  Got a nut but no screw for it

Missing one screw

Looks good, easy to assemble, good size. Very good quality for the super low price. The only thing (and it wasn't a big deal) but some of the holes for the bolts weren't punched out, so I had to grab a trusty pointy thing.

Good compost bin

It is an easy set up. The small air openings keep rodents out. And the Wingdigger makes stirring things up very easy.
