I was a bit worried about buying a refurbished air purifier as I didn't want a used filter. At this price I couldn't resist after a lot of research. I chose the Shark because of the long service life of the filter as I didn't want to have the expense of replacing filters every 3 months. I opened up the box which looked like it was never opened before and found the filter was still in it's sealed bag. Not a speck of dust on the machine. I'm really pleased with it. The air quality is terrible with these wildfires and even with our windows closed and only using our basement door to come and go the smell still gets in the house. Sore throat and stinging eyes are not fun. This purifier has cleared our air quickly. One day the smoke seemed light enough to air the house out but after opening the doors the purified detected particulate matter and turned on fully until I shut the doors and it cleared the air. Also, after slightly burning some toast, it kicked on until the smell was gone. I am amazed actually and can just leave it on auto and let it do its magic. I recommend this product.
