When we first set up our daughters bed we used a mesh bed rail made for a regular sized bed thinking it would work the same way. We were wrong lol so I searched specifically for toddler day beds and purchased this one and we absolutely love it! Very easy to install (I was able to do it myself) and very sturdy. I would definitely recommend this rail to anyone that's in need of one!

Exactly what we needed

At first I almost regretted buying this. Assembling it was kinda hard because you basically set the parts down and put the mattress on top. Nothing is actually latched to the crib for safety. BUT once I got it together, everything was fine. My son doesn't fall out and he sleeps crazy. I like the size. The crib is pretty big and it leaves enough space for him to climb out safely.

Cheap product but works well.

My 21 month old son started hating his crib,  so we took the rail down to make it a toddler bed. I was afraid he would roll out of his bed, so I purchased this product. It took me less than 10 minutes to set up, the top bar was slightly crooked, so it took a little extra time wiggling the pins into place. It's been on his bed for 2 weeks, works really well, and I moved it closer to one side of the bed so there's plenty of room for my son to climb in and out of bed. Perfect for what we needed, and haven't had any issues so far.

Inexpensive and works great!

Got this to put on my daughter's crib after taking the front off of it. The picture shows the rail in between two crib mattresses. We only had one for her bed (why would you have 2?) so the rail bars sit directly on the metal part that the mattress rests on. It does keep her from rolling out of bed, but it doesn't fit all that well. And the swing-down mechanism doesn't work with the way we have it set up, either.  If you happen to have 2 crib mattresses, it should work great, otherwise use at your own risk.

It works

This rail was easy to install and does its job of keeping my 2 year old DD from rolling out of her newly converted crib to toddler bed. 

The down sides are that when you go to change the sheets, if you lift the mattress up to get the sheet corners attached the straps that hold the rail in place fall off and it takes some effort (and sometimes more than one person) to put them back into place. We are slowly learning how to change the sheets while leaving the mattress completely pressed onto the crib base to avoid this problem, but it is annoying. 

Also, the 2 latches that are used to hold the rail in place or to allow it to swing down do not stay completely latched. I'm not sure if my DD is tugging on the rail to cause this to happen or if they are just kind of loose, but every time I tuck her in for nap or bedtime I end up pressing them both back down into the vertical lock position. Note: the latches have never opened up enough on their own to actually allow the rail to swing down, but I also have never let them go more than 24 hours without pushing them back down.

A few inconveniences, but it was a decent price and keeps her in bed while she rolls around in her sleep.

Does the job but not most convenient

I was trying to use this on a daybed. It is not a daybed converted from a crib...therefore the construction dies not work as intended. The instructions were horrible. I have a ten inch foam mattress that fits on wooden slats with no box springs or foundation. It does not work with this situation and is not very tall, either. It will not swing down for me, either. Disappointed.

Does not work for non-crib daybed.

I have a delta 4 in 1 crib, and I ended buying the actual part instead. No matter how much I tried to fix it, the rail always curves in and makes the crib feel smaller (my toddler looked uncomfortable in the crib seeing how it dents into the crib) do not recommend.

Not worth it

Extremely disappointed. I don't believe I've ever written a product review, which should tell how disappointed I am. Within 1 month of installing the rail guard, the fabric was ripping. Now, two month later, it is completely torn top to bottom. Not worth what we paid if it doesn't last more than 2 months.
