Effective for containing dogs in specific areas.

Can be smooth, but also stiff and hard to use.

Can be straightforward, but may require extra effort in certain settings.

Can be secure, but may also be finicky or unreliable.

The top turn button to lock and unlock, is tough to turn at first. After using a couple times it loosened up and works well. Gate is tight and strong.
Good value.

Great gate

walmart.com

Loved it. However, we installed it on the stairs to separate a new cat from our current cat. Even though we installed it on the first step from the bottom, both cats could still jump over it. Loved the extra width because most don't extend to 50".

Loved it but... it didn't work for our purpose.

Great product fits perfectly into the space of my hallway entry. I made a great trace choice purchasing this photo great product fits perfectly into the space of my hallway entry. I made a great trace choice purchasing this photo product.

This gate is retractable. It lets my cats out while it keeps my dogs in. Im talking about my room.
I close the gate because I don't want my dogs in my room they tend to love my bed.
At the same time I love the fact that I leave my bedroom door open so that my cats have access to my room.
I bought this gate before for the upstairs. The installation was very simple.
The installation on this gate however was difficult. Eventually I got it done.
I highly recommend this gate to those who have small children and animals.

The gate was a bit difficult to install, and it looked like it had been a return, because some of the wall anchors and screws were missing from the package. And the template to mark the points to screw into the wall was torn in half.
Gate works fine, but the setup was just a bit difficult alone. Maybe easier with two people?

Difficult Installation

As it is nice but it is not great as the dog went under the mesh gate which it would be nice if there is something sturdy to keep on the bottom of gate

Mesh Gate

Gait is very flimsy, easy to touch and open.gate will open at rapid speed and smash fingers and hands. Has a lock to prevent that from happening however lock does not work when gate is in use. Only works when gate is rolled up to prevent it from being unrolled into a usable position . My toddler can open this gate with ease.

Even a one yr old can open this gate.

I was very disappointed. I bought this to keep my 15 pound cocker spaniel out of one room in the house. She can jump on the gate and it will open. When it retracts back it is very hard and slams into the doorway. If it were being used for a child or baby I would be terrified of them being hurt. My fur baby was able to jump back and not get hurt. It's also not the easiest to operate. The bottom of the gate struggles to latch and unlatch when trying to enter or exit. If I had kept the box I would have returned it.

Not what I had hoped

The first time we bought this, the plastic clip that connects the gate to the wall broke. Figured it must have been a fluke. Replaced it. Second one broke in exactly the same way, (actually injured our toddler in the process. Nothing serious, but bruised his face.)

The provided hardware is also cheap — two of the screws heads broke clean off, and three stripped to the point where we could barely remove the brackets from our doorframe after deciding to go with a different brand.

Cheap materials

The baby lifted the mesh and crawled right under it on the first day 😂 Installation was a pain and required a drill. The gate is difficult to pull out and latch, requiring 2 hands. The force at which the gate pulls back into the base has actually already started pulling the latches out of the wall after about a week of light use. I did use the fasteners that came with it but will need to find a way to reinforce it if I plan to continue to use it. In all honesty, I will probably be going back to a different gate soon.

Regalo Retractable Baby Gate with grey mesh and plastic mounting hardware installed in a doorway, extending up to 50 inches wide and 30 inches tall, shown securing a modern home interior with a woman holding a toddler behind the gate, featuring an easy lock indicator for child safety.
