Without any modifications, these aluminum electrostatic heavy duty filters will operate and replace any disposable or existing air conditioning/heating filter. These filters help purify the air of dirt, dust, pollen, pet dander and other allergens which can help reduce the discomfort and irritation of allergy sufferers, itchy/watery eyes and sneezing. As an electrostatic charge is generated by the air flowing through the filter, contaminants are attracted like a magnet and held by the static charge, without the release until washed (no electrical connections needed!). It is recommended filters be washed at least every 1-3 months, depending on usage and air quality. To clean, remove filter, vacuum/use low pressure hose on both sides and rinse with water. For the removal of tough grease or smoke, you may have to wash with a mild house-hold detergent such as hand wash or dish detergent. Before re-installing into your system, be sure to let the filter dry. Mesh design makes the filter easier to wash and rugged aluminum frame, prevents corrosion or rust.

This is a good permanent filter for Trane Central/ducted heat pumps. Due to the odd dimensions of Trane filters 20x22x1, this was the only place I could find the correct size. You can't buy this size in stores only paper single use filters from the dealers.
