I have been a shipper and receiver most of my working career. This is hands down the best utility knife for all day use. I like bright colors for easy location on the factory floor. I use the same model at my home for DIY projects. It locks in place inhansing safety. and comes with 3 flippable blades to get you started. I recommend this to any utility knife user. Don't take chances on safety.

Comes with 3 blades. Yes, you do have to assemble it. This consists of unscrewing the single screw, removing one half of the metal item, removing the plastic packaging, placing the two extra blades in the handle, placingthe  cutting blade against the thumb button and replacing the metal half, then screwing it all back together again. I've used worse and this one works very well.

There's a Stanley utility knife with a plastic reserve blade storage that swings out. I have one of those, and while the grip is great, the plastic swing-out part is a pain to reassemble. I like that this one doesn't have the swing-out compartment. The blades do rattle around in the compartment though, but again, I get these knives for the performance and most of my blades have their own dispensers

This one is a little short, but still has a good grip and it feels solid. Might be good for smaller hands (mine are large). 

The blades it comes with are pretty good general-purpose Stanley blades. I do prefer DeWalt (sharp for long) or Milwaukee (really sharp), but these do a good job. Also, you'll be replacing blades anyways, and I got this for the handle, and that it's made in the USA. Milwaukee's handles aren't, though Milwaukee blades are

Very solid. Maybe good for smaller hands.

Like "always go to", I also have been using my 10-179 since at least 1975. Still feels good in my hand, especially with the ribs (really nice with wet rubber gloves or greasy hands).
I lube the blade carrier yearly and still works like new. No complaints whatsoever.

QUALITY!

Always my go to

#1) Have to take apart to get advertisement removed.  The instructions on the back were poor. It was difficult to reassemble. Once finished. it worked OK.
2.) The shipping packaging was poor. The box was damaged in transit.  Probably because there were only 3 air pillows included. The 13" x 10" box was far too big for a 6-inch knife. The knife was OK, but why, why, why such a large box?

Difficult to assemble

This one never did work from the start well it won't stay locked in the farthest out position.  Got other old Stanley works great yet but thought this one would be good with the grip design but can't use it with blade all the way out at all.
