It's hard to buy off the internet without actually seeing the product.. but this was the perfect size for two people and there's no waste I highly recommend the three cup rice cooker. It Cooks the rice perfect and keeps it warm after it's cooked. Nice.

I really love this cooker, 1st and foremost I am a fan of Black and Decker, the majority of my appliances are from this brand.  This cooker is really easy to use, I get it some people might struggle in the begging, but once you get the hang of it you will love it.  Pour a little bit of rice and little but of water, salt and butter and let it cook. I work from home so it's easy for me just to prep it to cook and in less than half hour I have cooked rice.  Yes, a little foam comes out of the top but it's because the rice is not rinsed well.  My friend bought one for her teenage daughter so she can just cook herself something to eat when she gets home.  I really love it.  I am not sure about people saying it breaks fast.  I really believe that yes  these things can happen, just bring it back and get a replacement.    I Can cook a small amount of rice so I don't overeat. The only thing I don't like is that I have to unplug it to shut it off completely but I can live with in comparison to the benefits.

Caveat: The unit really only is a 2 or 2.5 cup max rice cooker. Also, directions are confusing. Fortunately, I have purchased a similar item years ago fm a different manufacturer but it is very similar. 
Basic rice: rice pkgs say 1 part rice to 2 parts water stovetop. Most rice cookers say 1 part rice to 1 part or maybe 1/1/4 part water. 
It's up to you to do a test run and adjust the amount of water to have rice either cooked more firm or more fluffy.
More water, more plump/fluffy. Do the one part rice to one and a quarter part water as a starting point. 

It's a great unit for one or two people household; excellent for singles. 
If you have a larger household, buy the larger 6 cup unit; it's very much close to same price or not much more.

A clearly compact cooking pot, yes it does make 3 cups of cooked rice. The measurements on the pan and cup are accurate.
Remember this is a very small appliance, so you know that.

I use mine to reheat my prepped food since I live alone. It works perfectly as a rice cooker also.

When you plug it in , the warmer light is on, you have to press the button down to cook. You can stop the cooking and go back to warm. And to completely turn it off you will have to unplug it. 
It does and it has come to a raging boil, remove lid stir and I sometimes put it back on but leaving a gap.

Lil rice cooker

I have a 6 cup rice cooker that I've had for many years and the and the rice pot is at least 3 times bigger than the pot that is in this Black & Decker 3-Cup Rice Cooker.
There is no way this could actually cook 3 cups of rice. It would blow the lid off. 
This tiny cooker would make 2 Cups of cooked white rice, max.

the first time I used, it boiled over on to the counter. that was half of a cup. Second time I used it, had a full cup, still it boiled over. third time I noticed that it boils too much and that's what think is wrong with it. I would not recommend it

"Three cups" means the 1/2 cup measurement that the included cup is. 

If you pour 1 1/2, which is the limit, you'll get 1 1/2 actual cups of rice. 

Nothing wrong with cooking for 1 or 2 people but the description it's deceiving and should specify correct amount.

Bought it almost 1 month ago and it stopped working.
I think I got sold a return because the little spoon that comes with it was missing.

Otherwise, it does what it's supposed to.

Just received it yesterday and when I looked at the bowl of the rice cooker I thought  it cannot be 3cups size   Too small until I saw what they mean by 1cup . It's not enough even for 1person

They mean 3-1/2  cups of rice

We bought this as a replacement in November after our three-year-old one died. Now, in August, it's already dead. The quality has definitely gone downhill. It should last more than 10 months

Died in 10 months

This is not a true 3 cup rice cooker. More like a 1 cup. I was so disappointed when I received it. Love my Black %26 Decker products but this was such a let down. Didn't even use it... packed it back up and returned. I need the real 3 cup rice cooker. Walmart, please remove this product for not being advertised accurately.
