Ease Of Use

We purchased the toilet auger because I've finally reached the age where my stools are sometimes too large to  go down the toilet drain by themselves. We had a choice: pay a plumber some unknown but assuredly large amount to clear the drain for us. I decided to try to do it myself and, as it turned out, had the same problem using three different toilets over a three day period. The auger worked perfectly each time!

This is a household essential for older homes with sewer issues.  Gitcha one today.

I have no prior experience using a toilet auger. The biggest stumbling block for me was knowing how to get the head of the cable to begin its movement down the pipe. I wish the instructions cautioned users NOT to use sharp thrusts of the cable in and out - UNTIL AFTER the cable head has already entered into and made its way beyond the pipe opening of the toilet. I ended up scratching off most of the porcelain close to the bottom front of the toilet pipe opening - due to user error - before I realized that I needed to lower the handle end of the Toilet Auger all the way down, so that the Guide Tube touched the front rim of the toilet bowl, in order for me to be able to turn the Crank to push the head of the auger carefully and slowly, to enable the head of the auger to approach the toilet pipe opening at the correct angle, and then be able to successfully make its entry into the pipe opening. The auger successfully cleared the blockage using three feet of cable - while pushing the whole assembly deeper into the toilet pipe to gain another inch or two of pipe penetration. Luckily, I did not have to try using six feet of cable so I cannot rate that performance aspect of the auger.

A Solid Tool in need of Better Instructions

Does the job. A little difficult to retract and store. But it saves a $75 plumber charge!

Every time I used this model it would pinch my fingers when pushed all the way in. I had replaced my k3 style with this one but after using it 3 times a it pinching my finger 3 times I went and purchased another k3 model.

Pinch your hand

The 6' extension on the 2025 model doesn't work.  It extends about 3” and then the cable starts pulling up.  The button never reaches the second hole to lock in. I suspect the bottom itself it creating too much pressure on the extension tube to let it travel down to the second hole.  We had an old auger from 1998, but decided it was time for a new one.  Wish we still had that old rusty workhorse.
