Ease Of Use

Works really well. Cuts through copper pipe with ease. Simple to use and gets the job done. I'd recommend it.

Reliable and Easy Copper Pipe Cutter

I needed a tool to shorten a shotgun barrel. The other tube cutters from other manufacturers were very light weight and not recommended for steel tubing. The Ridgid Model 15 is rated for light steel tubing and is very hefty. After carefully marking the length and taping off both sides of the cut line to protect the bluing from the cutter roller I began the cutting process. After 12-15 twists around the barrel, gradually tightening the tool, the cut portion fell away. The cut itself was very clean, exactly flush and square to the barrel and required very little deburring. And the roller did not mar the existing blue finish. A couple of applications of bluing to the shiny cut mark and the finished muzzle looks just like the rest of the blued metal. I couldn't have asked for a better tool for this job. It is easy to use, cuts very smoothly and precisely and the weight of this cutter eliminates any chatter or skipping out of the cut track. And you can buy replacement cutter wheels if needed. I highly recommend the Model 15 tube cutter by Ridgid. It exceeded my expectations!

Great gunsmithing tool!

I have used and abused this cutter for over 26 years!! I purchased it back in 1995 when I started in the piping industry and it has survived being submerged, thrown, ran over, thousands of cuts, rust, snow, the occasional dog trying to eat or fetch it, and what ever other forms of use and abuse I has put it through. 

It keeps on cutting! I have only ever replaced the cutting wheel and had to replace a roller because I lost the screw that held it in place in a ditch whilst cutting copper for a sewer and water lateral years back.

It Will Not Die!!!!

I wasn't sure which size would be best for home DIY projects, and didn't want to invest in a complete set of 10, 20, 30 tube/pipe cutters for something I'd only need or use very occasionally. Decided on the Ridgid #20 size and wasn't disappointed. It's big enough to tackle kitchen sink and bathroom vanity sink pipes up to 2 1/8 inches. Anything larger I probably should call the Plumber anyway. This model is solid and cuts tubing accurately and quickly, like a hot knife through butter. I'm sure this product will outlive me.

Right tool for the job.

This product is so easy to use and cuts so smoothly its like cutting butter with a hot knife. Blades are easy to replace, the turn know is a nice size and easy to turn. The weight of it makes the cutting effortlessly. All around great product!

Easy to Use and Cuts clean and smooth

Bought 2 other ones before this one and had to return them for their poor quality and not straight cut. Should have gone with my gut and got Ridgid first. Great tool and durable.

This is a nice cutter

If you need a large cutter, this one seems to work very well. It opens and sizes easily and maintains the size for the whole cut.

very nice cutter, only issue i see is that handle can be turned in fully which causes rollers to contact cutter wheel. there should be something to prevent this.

Design flaw

Great cutters and they have always worked great. Mine would cut up to 2 1/4 pipe and I had problems with them walking when cutting 2" and bigger. Just had to watch it and make sure it kept straight. Other than the fact someone wanted them more than me they are great cutters!

Must have for cutting copper!

Not one of those flimsy tubing cutters, the fit, feel and performance of this product provides confidence to the user that they'll be able to reach for this one for a long time
