It requires sharpening, but can't be sharpened easily. It's lined with a plastic case. Otherwise it applies well and lasts on the eyes but since it can't be sharpened, the tip wears down quickly which makes it very expensive.

I bought this to go on my waterline, and it's doesn't. I have tried EVERYTHING to get it to work with no success. I've warmed it up, dried my waterline. Applied gently, pressed harder, one swipe- 17 swipes. Nothing. The best it can do is patchy ash grey, even though it shows up black on your hand. I've literally tried repeatedly until my eyes HURT with no results. I'm so disappointed in this product I can't even begin to describe it- all I'll say is a primark liner did better. I can't believe all this 5 star reviews unless I received a defective product and somehow everyone else's is fine. I'm going to put this under fire in hopes it gets WARM enough to glide on my waterline! My eyes don't even tear up when I'm putting them through this abuse so there's no excuse

Terrible, waste of money and will give you styes.

If I could give minus stars I would. CANNOT be sharpened so after a couple of uses has to be binned. It used to be good. Should be refunded. A complete con.

Useless DO WASTE YOUR MONEY

Wish I'd read these reviews first…I bought this on Monday this week…have used it 3 times and needed some more ‘lead'….it won't push up! What a waste of money…AND it's no waterproof! Disgraceful RIMMEL these reviews are from a At least a year ago. The product should have been withdrawn by now. I am entitled to a refund…how do I get one? Trading standards should be informed.

Not fit for purpose

Bought this and absolutely love the colour 006 Green and the effect. However after approx half a dozen uses it requires sharpening. No way to do this as plastic around the colour stick and no twist function operational. So overall quite expensive pro rata for amount of use. Not happy abd wouldn't buy again.

Nice colour but virtually single use

It IS a scandal!  This is a lovely creamy eyeliner that stays put all day BUT IT IS NOT SHARPENABLE. This means it lasts approx 1 week. There is absolutely no way of twisting more out or sharpening it. A total waste of money. Rimmel need to sort this out because the actual eyeliner is really lovely.

A scandal

Absolutely awful... was good when purchased but when it comes to sharpening it isnt possible! The plastic pencil is impossible to sharpen and if you do manage it a little bit it leaves the rim really sharp to point it scratched my eye which could of been a lot worse!

I have only given this 1 star as I couldn't review it otherwise!

DO NOT PURCHASE

Can't be sharpened as 'pencil' is plastic. Might try with a Stanley knife but that's not very practical. Nice and soft for the 2 uses you get out of it. Otherwise it's a waste of money.

Waste of money

As many of the reviews state, after a week or so, the pencil's useless, as it can't be sharpened. Isn't it time Rimmel refunded us and withdrew this item from their stock?

Sacandalous

OMG what a disappointing product. Tested the color instore and loved the consistency. Only problem is they cellotape the lids on, so when i got hit home, there was no point. Tried to sharpen in with 2 of my cosmetic sharpeners to no avail as well as 3 other pencil sharpeners my artist Dad has, and  it just wouldn't sharpen! Making it an utter waste of money! Never even got a chance to use it

Don't waste your money

I bout this a month ago now and I looked at review before purchase about it not sharpening but trust me if you put it in the freezer form 15-20 mins it hardens the creamy formula and plastic meaning it sharpens beautifully and one tip don't press hard whist sharpening it's my go to
