Rit DyeMore Synthetic Dye will dye polyester cotton blends, nylon, acrylic, and acetate fabrics. Stove top method is required for dying synthetic materials. Heat dye product to between 180°-212°, and maintain that temp for the dying time. 7 fluid oz bottle will dye up to 2 pounds of dry fabric, however polyester requires 2 bottles. Most users find the product straightforward to use.

Can produce vibrant colors, but may lack consistency.

I gave this item 5 stars because it does what it's supposed to. Also, I'd recommend this item only if you absolutely need it. I'd only buy this item again if I absolutely need it.. The reason is because it's difficult to use and messy. You need to heat a large pot of water to 200 degrees and maintain that temperature while stirring for more than an hour. Therefore, I would only purchase this item again if I absolutely need it.

went on great with a yard sprayer, Dyed the craft room carpet. color was great, instructions very easy, simple to use. Had some stains I just couldn't get out. so I dyed the carpet. extremely easy to use.

Graphite saved the Day

With this, I dyed polyester, satin and velvet. Works well!  I had a velvet dress which was a bright, garish fuchsia color. I dyed it with this, and it turned out a nice burgundy.  Satin works especially well.  Light colors or white will turn out a pretty grey color.

Perfect!

I got a good deal on some white nylon glass fiber filament, but the part I printed needed to be black. I read about using this synthetic dye so I thought I'd give it a try. I followed the directions, heating the water to about 140 degrees and then immersing the part. It came out perfect. The longer it soaks the darker it gets. You have to watch the temperature since if it gets too hot it can damage the nylon.

Works on 3D printed nylon!

I used this to dye a synthetic quilt.  I prewashed the quilt, then dyed it in the machine.  With polyester you cannot expect a deep color unless you use several bottles of dye.  I was able to tint the quilt from a warm brown to a cool light gray.

wonderful product especially for price simple easy to use remember put it in the washing machine it's so easy no mess either hot water boil some to add to it if possible put it all in the washing machine let it sit is as long as you possibly can drain that then add vinegar and salt cold water Rinse and love

three steps amazing product great price

If you want the end result to be black do not add water. I used it to dye upholstered chairs that were originally a sun daded lavendar. I painted undiluted dye on with a paint brush, let it dry, then poured boiling water over the chair. Let that sit,vthen rinsed with the hose. I am pleased with the results.

Do not dilute.

Rit has been around since I was a youngster (1950s). And it's understandable because of the quality %26 dye color intensity. Hands down, it is awesome.

Been Around Forever

I bought the graphite color and followed the directions. Very disappointed in the final result. Only one of my garments became slightly darker and the other two didn't grab at all.  I will use the regular Rit dye for all my clothes from here on.
