I have a lot of black clothes and items.  So every 6 mos or so  I put them in a dye bath.  They look brand new again.  The liquid is great because there's no problem with a dissolving issue!

My son wanted to repurpose some of his clothing items that were of all different colors (jeans, shirts and a hat) so we purchased two bottles and soaked all the items in a plastic storage container in boiling water and it died all the clothing items black, in a short period of time!

Works as advertised

I had a black polo shirt that I had accidentally spilled some bleach on and this fixed it! I didn't even follow instructions that well. (Add salt or something like that). Also I only used half a bottle so I will use the rest on a faded black shirt I have.

I use this to change the color of the plastic shells of my tools. All of my ugly red lightning Milwaukee power tools are either a metallic Bronze or solid black depending on if I let the item stay in the dye while it cooled off or if I pulled it out hot. Not sure how it works for fabrics! 10/10 for customized tools

This stuff is powerful- now be sure to follow the instructions, for natural fiber, you add a cup of salt to the dye, and you would be surprised what fibers count as 'natural' as far as dye is concerned, so ask co-pilot or whatever. They do make a synthetic fiber dye as well. This is also good to deepen or have a muted effect on brighter color but by all means don't use the whole bottle. Like say you buy the 'wine' color and it's a little too fuschia or reddish purple , add a capful to the dye.. Being an old 'goth' I have loads of black clothes and have occasionally messed them up with random bleach or something else, this has saved  me from having to throw stuff out and also refreshed black clothes that get dingy. Better to use it in a metal sink or  hardware store paint bucket- somewhere you arent worried about staining. I don't think I would use this in a white bathtub for instance.

Really useful stuff. Works very well.

Used 2 bottles to dye my faded blue jean jacket black. The jacket is very black, now, but the stitching isn't. This is because the jacket was 100% cotton, but the stitching thread is probably synthetic. I still have a nice, black, jean jacket, and I love it

This dye slaps.
Only docking one star because my regular pots were no match for the sheer volume of fabric involved, so I had to buy a cauldron like a swamp witch doing laundry.

Everything dyed evenly, deeply, and with authority.
10/10 results. 7/10 life choices.

Love the ease and coverage it gives to my fabrics. The only downside I'll say is that it's more of a purple-black than a true black. If you want the color to be much darker you either have to use more product or leave it in the solution for a longer period of time.

Black Color can Vary

I've dyed clothing before using Rit and bought this to dye some white all cotton tank tops black. I followed the instructions exactly, but the color ended up being more of a faded purply brown color, almost like a faded old black tshirt. It was not as opaque as I would have liked it.

Not Ozzy Black...More Faded

I now have a bunch of purple clothing items I will never be able to wear because they're ….purple 🤮 ……..my least favorite color. Every piece I've dyed with Rit Black or grays ~even when adding yellow.~ is some hideous shade of purple. I followed instructions to the tee and was very deliberate. I even pretreated with RIT color remover. 🤦‍♀️. Very disappointed. I spent a lot of money ruining my clothes. How hard is black or gray?  Now  I need more clothes to replace the ones ruined by RIT.. 😖
