Nice texture and taste

It is a little too sweet but otherwise good.  I used to get Cross and Blackwell but it isn't available anymore.  It was the best.

Too Sweet

What ever happened to the old Ed smith mincemeat,  this was the only one I could find and I found it not good at woo.   Hubby loved my mincemeat tarts and he will not even eat these.

I normally enjoy Robertson's brand for jams and jellies so it seemed natural to go for their traditional mincemeat style pie filling (sans meat/suet) but my family and I found this to be sickeningly sweet and gritty in texture. While it has candied peel in it, it's predominantly made of raisins which was not to my liking, and this might be why it's so sweet. It might work ok in small tartlets, or maybe incorporated into another pie filling, like an apple pie, but otherwise it's too overpowering and lacks that spice that makes mincemeat enjoyable.

Ridiculously sweet and weirdly gritty
