Most amazing iron I ever owned.  Purchased this to replace a Rowenta I've had for 10+ years.  I love the brand and decided on this after much research.  This model is nice and heavy and easy to use.  Water receptacle is large so it requires less refill.  A plus for me as I steam just about everything.  Very easy to use.  Highly recommended

I had never heard of a Rowenta iron until I was 50 .  What a wonderful thing to have had during all the "starch and dampen and iron" days.  This iron gets so much hotter than any other, and makes ironing quick and easy!  It is the BEST! No contest.

Love yourself, buy a Rowenta iron!

Have no complaints.  We don't iron that much so it hasn't actually been used yet.  Looks and feels great.  Rowenta  has a good reputation and that's what we went with.  And the fact that its not made in China was a huge selling point.

Not Chinese

I had an older Rowenta iron that finally needed replacing after 12-13 years. I looped at all the available options and settled on the 9280. Other brands didn't compare to this model. If you want steam this baby has it! It almost lifts off my ironing board when you hit the shot of steam button. There isn't anything I don't like about this iron. The only suggestions I have are to make the water level easier to see by using clear plastic. The other one is to have an option of having a switch to change it to non auto shut off. I know we need to be protected from ourselves but this can be a hassle with piecing especially. I actually can unplug my iron when I'm through using it.

Buy this iron!

I love this iron. But I am going to tell you I paid a lot of money for it and when I got it it was in a plastic shipping bag that looked like it got tossed around and had a lot of holes in it opened it and the box for the iron was open my iron had scratches on it. I am still considering sending it back. Not acceptable....

Expected it to be a lot better than my old Iron.  Not much different.  Good for blazer jacket sleeves so no crease but other than than not a big difference.  Have to refill water a lot more often

Good but not great

I do quite a bit of ironing for our clothing and I enjoy sewing so I use a steam iron quite a bit of the time. I have owned 3 previous Rowenta irons and had no problems with them. They all had natural deaths and lasted for several years. I invested in this Steamforce because of its features. It cost quite a bit more than what I had previously spent on irons but I figured it would be worth the money. Before the first year was up, the water tank lid broke off. I called the customer support number and was sent a mailing label to ship the iron to a repair center in Colorado. They fixed the lid or replaced the iron with a refurbished iron (I was not sure it was my previous iron, but...) Shortly after the one-year warranty was up, the shot-of-steam button failed to work so, again, I called customer service and they graciously sent me another mailing label to ship the iron to Colorado for repair. This was all done at no cost to me because of 2 problems within such a short time period. When the iron was shipped back to me, the shot-of-steam button worked but I really thought it was a different iron and the sole plate was covered in a gummy substance (bottom and sides) that had never been on my iron before. The third problem occurred shortly after the 2nd repair. The iron heated up so hot on the linen and cotton settings that it burned fabric and sent clouds of steam/smoke into the air around my ironing board. I had to clean the sole plate several times. Again, I called customer service and said I thought the iron had serious problems so they sent me a shipping label to return the iron to the main office for examination. The technicians determined that it heated a bit hotter than expected but did not see the problems I had experienced with the iron. They replaced the iron. I am quite grateful for their willingness to stand behind their product but I do not think this particular iron is worth the money I paid for it.

Steamforce has some problems

I have had this iron for 8 months and loved it until it started leaking. About a week ago, I picked it up to press a quilting piece I was working on and found the tank had leaked all over the ironing board. Now it leaks all the time. Prior to this problem I loved that the abundant steam from the front of the iron was very useful in piecing.

It leaks!

I bought this item at Bed Bath and Beyond on-line for less than 6 months and it stops working. The indicator light kept blinking and it was not hot at all regardless of whatever setting. I contact Consumer Service for repair but nothing happens except for advice on how to keep your product in good shape. I end up buying

Great Iron for less than 6 months

I am particular and iron more than most people. I am a quilter and sewist. My first DW9280 made it just past the warranty so it was not covered, The dial on top and under the handle came off. You can not put it back on yourself. Between the postage and repair cost, I decided it was not worth repairing. I bought another DW9280 in January of 2017. The thermostat went bad in 2 months. I will send this back for warranty work but I'll have to pay for postage which will be expensive. I can't buy a Rowenta again after these 2 experiences.

I would not buy this model DW9280 again.
