[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Beautiful books. Bought all three illustrated versions of this trilogy and I have them all on display. I haven't read the book yet, but I know I'll enjoy it. This book is well designed and I genuinely believe the price is worth it.

Robbin Hobb is the goat!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This second installment of the farseer trilogy smartly continues the story in a way that makes the book hard to put down. The pseudonymous Robin Hobb blends wit, measured pacing, insightful character development and expert world-building to create a story that is simultaneously compelling and satisfying. The middle part of the trilogy tends to be the toughest, as the author must move the story forward with repeating herself and without spoiling the end, a task made more difficult as the story must remain essentially unresolved. Hobb is up to the task in this installment, and readers who have read Assassin's Apprentice will be rewarded with progressing in this series.
